The Octopus is situated in Queensberry Bay, approximately 20 minutes away from East London. Queensberry is a small seaside town that is ideal for a peaceful getaway.
The cottage is an old fishermans cottage with three bedrooms and one bathroom. There is a fully equipped kitchen and an open-plan living area with a four-seater dining table. There is a lovely garden area with braai facilities.
There is a communal swimming pool, tennis court and children's playground and the cottage is situated 200 m from the beach where there are good fishing, surfing and swimming sites.
"i ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE PLACE AND THE NEIGHBOURS . SO FRIENDLY !!! I HAD JUST WHAT THE DOCTOR ORDERED IN A TRULY BEACH HOUSE WITH ABSOLUTE TRANQUILITY AROUND ME . THIS COTTAGE IS EXACTLY WHAT I IMAGINE A BEACH COTTAGE TO BE AND I LOVED IT !!! WILL DEFINATLY BE GOING BACK !!!!"
"What an amazing stay! The cottage was clean and comfortable with every little thing we needed. It has an amazing outside area ideal for socializing or having a braai. All the neighbours were very friendly and we felt right at home. Can't wait to visit again."
"Feels like home, a tv would be nice."
"This three bedroom 6 sleeper capitalixes on the scarcity of self-catering accommodation in the East Coast resorts of East London. We selected the accommodation knowing what to expect having been there before, but given another option would in all likelihood go elsewhere. (We have family living permanently in the complex, making it suitable.)The price is high given the "beach shack" facilities, with a motley assortment of cutlery crockery and glassware. At a lower price it would be fair value."
"This could be a wonderful getaway IF the facilities were adequate - cooking utensils almost non existent, pots etc not big enough for a family of 6. Could have done with a few more homely touches like a radio (we enjoyed the fact that there was no TV - but only 2 decks of cards a few more family games would have been nice). The directions and how to actually gain access to the property were dreadful - if it weren't for the fact that we actually bumped into the owner I am not sure how we would have found the cottage. Again luckily I have some knowledge of the area as there was no information regarding local stores etc for supplies. I traveled from the UK with my family and my mother from NZ (I am originally from the EC) if it had been anyone else from abroad staying here I would hate to think what the comments would have been like.<br/>There are some plus points the kids loved the pool and going down to the beach and luckily the neighbours were really lovely and friendly and we were welcomed to join in with the festivities offered."
"It was very pleasant and the complex is very quiet and the people around were very helpful and kind. Very nice place to go to with kids as it's secure and kids can't go to the beach without a older child with or a adult."
