  • "Fantastic!"

    10 March 2015

"On arrival we were warmly greeted by Balbina who showed us around and made us feel so at home. The rooms are clean and the bed is very comfortable. Unfortunately, we were only booked at GuBas De Hoek for one night but will definitely book for a longer stay in the future. I would highly recommend this guest house to anyone looking for upmarket accommodation.<br />"

  • "A Great Stay"

    06 January 2015

"Unfortunately, we only had a short overnight stay in Robertson - and we were disappointed that we did not have the time to enjoy more of GuBas De Hoek's offerings. The room was immaculate - and we loved the setup of the room - especially the small private courtyard and the plan of the shower. This is more than a guesthouse - it is effectively a boutique hotel. Perhaps next time we will spend more time in Robertson - and we would definitely want to stay here again."

  • "No hot water"

    10 June 2013

"On the day that we happened to be staying at GuBas De Hoek Guest House, there was not hot water at all. This was not the hosts fault, but none the less, we paid for a 4 star stay, and we did not get the 4 star treatment. We were travelling with our 2 year old, in winter, and we really needed that hot bath! We received an apology an invite to visit again and have a complimentary breakfast, but we still feel like we should have received a discount on the rates that we had paid. We do not feel like we received our money's worth. On a positive note, the breakfast was tasty, and the staff very friendly.<br></br><b>Establishment's response</b><br></br><i>Dear Jason,<br></br>thank you very much for your review at Safarinow. You're absolutely right, you can expect hot water in a guest house and believe me, it is our standard.<br></br> (We're working with 2 geysers and at the same time, Friday evening at 18h30 the pressure velve from the 300 l geyser went off and theheater with the thermostat from our 200 l geyser.)I did mention that problem already on your arrival and once again, we appologize very much for that.<br></br> If I'd have know the information you gave on the review, I certainly could have heat up water in big pots on the stove for your bath. Sorry once again for that.<br></br> Your rate was 2 adult and 1 child R860.I did offer you 2 Gubas full breakfast with a value of R 250 and ask you, if you're happy with that solution. You did agree to that.<br></br> May I please ask you, how much more discount you'd like and I'm sure, we'll find a solution?<br></br> We're looking forward to hear from you again.<br></br> Warm regards from THE ROBERTSON WINE VALLEY</i>"

  • "Perfect stay"

    19 October 2011

"We had a perfect stay at GusBas De Hoek and will be back if we stay in Robertson again. The owner operates the guest house with passion, felt by all the guests. Thanks a lot for the one-night stay. Unfortunately it was only the one night as we would have liked to have spent more time at GusBas De Hoek and Robertson."
