"Four wonderful days at Lalibela Game Reserve - unbelievable beauty. We saw the big 5 in one day plus so much more, including a fight between the two male lions!! The staff and our ranger were fantastic - kept us very well fed and entertained."

"A lovely place to stay and a really nice stuff. I recommend to stay two days for getting the best experience and the chance to see as much animals as possible. Unfortunately we didn't like the food so much, but other guests did."

  • "Superb. "

"Definitely the highlight of our stay in South Africa. We spent four happy and carefree days! The facilities are good and fitting to the game reserve. All was clean and cosy. The food was excellent. Particularly for the kids, it was great that we could use buffet facilities rather than a sit -in and through dinner. The staff was absolutely wonderful - kind, always with a smile, and truly making us feel at home. The kids loved it! They played chess near the fire place, swam, ran around, discovered the bunnies that come out at night on the grass and were impressed by the music and dance program. The kids participated in both the kids and adult drives (they had just reached the right age) and were delighted by that. We not only saw the big 5 but also learned a tremendous amount about the smaller animals, the birds, insects and plants and conservation in general from our ranger. This definitely made all the difference for us.I can clearly recommend Lalibela to any family."

"We had a brilliant time at Lalibela with our 2 children age 9 + 12 over Easter 2006.The staff were so friendly and helpful and our ranger Shelley, although young, was great and incredibly knowledgable. The food was plentiful and excellent and other families at Mark's Camp meant that our kids made friends and had fun at the camp as well as on the game drives. The game drives were fabulous and the holiday was everything we had hoped it would be.My only minor criticism is that the accomodation is rather gloomy and a little dated and could use some refurbishments and I therefore felt Lalibela was a little overpriced compared to another game reserve we had stayed at the previous week. <>OP Response:I am very glad to hear that you had a lovely stay at the reserve and that your children enjoyed themselves. We will definitely take your comments into consideration when looking at refurbishments of the lodges this winter. We hope to see you down our way again in the future"
