Cottons Cottages

This delightful Olde Worlde, beautifully renovated fisherman's cottage has all the modern conveniences while keeping its yesteryear feeling. Here is her story: I am an elderly lady, about 125 years old originally from a fishing family, full of character, warmth and vitality. I have an air of serenity and peace and stand elevated above the hustle and bustle of the surroundings and often feel that I have the world at my feet.

I have seen ships from all around the world come, go, and shared the excitement of the many naval exercises. I have watched lovely sleek yachts race as they stream out of the harbour and over the bay, longing for the breeze or battling the force of the winds. From September through to November, we are visited by the Southern Right whales, which have also discovered the safety and tranquility of our bay. They come to mate or give birth to their calves and stay to wallow with them until they are old enough to make their long journey back to Antarctica.

The cottage has two bedrooms, both en-suite with a live in kitchen. It is completely self-catering. Amazing uninterrupted sea view over False Bay to the Hottentots Holland Mountains. Within walking distance to one of our lovely beaches. Join the local fishermen on the rocks and enjoy some relaxing sea fishing. Explore the quaint historic naval town. Visit vibrant Kalk Bay for a different shopping or eating experience.

"My sister and I stayed at Cottons Cottages, nr 2 from 4 - 7 May 2015 and loved it. It is a return visit for us both as we remembered that we so enjoyed the first time. The old seeman's cottage retains much of its original charms whilst boasting all the mod cons required for a relaxing stay. The180-degree view of the mountains, see and Simons' Town harbour is splendid and the long covered stoep ideal for unwinding and sipping a GnT. AndSheena & Roly are great and welcoming hosts. Highly recommended."
