Froggy Pond B&B

We are situated across the road from the sea on the route to Cape Point and only a short stroll to another two superb swimming beaches, as well as the famous Boulders Beach where you will find penguins. The B&B comprises of a warm and cheerful bedroom, a private veranda overlooking the beach, and a kitchenette. It sleeps two guests. The included full breakfast is superb and the kitchenette offers limited self-catering facilities.

The flat has its own entrance and comprises a lounge/bedroom with a double bed, TV with Netflix and Amazon, and a view over the sea from one window, and into your private garden from the other. There is a kitchenette containing a fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle which provide limited self-catering options. The B&B is perfect for a couple as it has a queen size double bed. A braai can be put on your veranda if required. It is a coastal stroll along a path to the penguin colony at Boulders Beach and to either of the two superb swimming beaches.

The private veranda offers magnificent views over False Bay, all the way to the Hottentots Holland Mountains. Whales are seen from the veranda almost everyday between July and November and every evening, penguins are seen returning to their nests. Ann and Derek Law are ready with a warm welcome and will do their best to make your stay comfortable and fun.

  • "The view from our veranda"

    01 March 2018

"Derek and Ann, our hosts, went out of their way to make you feel welcome. Lots of little extras which surprised us every day but most of all their warmth, kindness, knowledge and good humour made us feel very welcome to share their little corner of heaven. We had a hire car for the duration of our stay and some of the highlights were:The Cape and 2 Oceans restaurant The Ostrich farm, Scarborough and the WholeEarth Cafe, Kirstenboush and The Moyo restaurant, Rhodes memorial and the tea room Babylonstoren and The Greenhouse restaurantFranschohek, the Huguenots memorial and The Tuk Tuk restaurant on the Main Street. And not to be missed, the penguins in Simons Town, both Boulders Beach and Seafourth having their own charm and good food.We hope to be back soon....thank you."

  • "Perfect"

    13 November 2010

  • "Froggy Pond"

    05 September 2010

"I chose this B&B initially because it is situated right across the street from the penguin colony at Boulders Beach. We were thrilled to find that the penguins cross the street every evening to sleep in the hedges practically at our feet. Froggy Pond is a delightful place to stay. Derek and Ann are wonderful hosts. As we are not big breakfast eaters, Ann kept the fridge stocked with yogurt and fresh fruit and juice (although she offered to cook us a "real" breakfast). The room is clean and comfortable. Being there in August, we had a little rain and wind, but the veranda was still a great place for a sundowner while waiting for the penguins. We really enjoyed the Cape Town area and would love to stay there again."

  • "Stunning views"

    08 February 2010

"Accommodation was neat and clean with amazing views. Our hosts were warm and the breakfast was an added bonus. A stone's throw away from the beach and close to Simon's Town."
