Sunset Manor

Sunset Manor is situated on a rocky ridge above the city of Nelspruit, with magnificent views over Mpumalangas capital and the escarpment. Set in two acres of indigenous gardens, it is the ideal place to relax and enjoy lowveld hospitality at its best.

Enjoy the beauty and serenity which can be found at Sunset Manor Lodge in 14 double rooms and three self-catering units. All the rooms have their own private entrance, air-conditioning, DStv with a limited bouquet, a fridge and tea and coffee trays. The self-catering units has two rooms, en-suite bathrooms, an open-plan kitchenette, dining room and lounge. Each unit has a private braai and Wi-Fi access.

There are various braai areas and two swimming pools are also for the benefit of our guests. Conferencing facilities and a lapa is available for functions. It is ideally located near the Kruger National Park, Mbombela Stadium, Nelspruit business district and Medi-clinic Private Hospital.

    "Upon arrival at the Manor, our booking was not recorded.Fortunately I had printouts of the booking.The family room we stayed in was a far cry form the pictures on the website, the small room's paint is peeling, the cupboard dated form ancient times, the extra blankets not up to industry standards, its outdated and the curtains seem to be hanging on a rod that can dismount from the wall at any minute, the curtains itself had a few hooks missing, making look very untidy , the fridge in the room is of very very poor quality, they neglected to change our towels after use, we had to use the same bath towels since Friday upon arrival and Sunday morning we still had no fresh towels. The wooden balcony poses a huge risk as the wood is dried out of from the sun and could potentially collapse . To crown it all ,, this booking did not include breakfast and this was not indicated when the booking was made, we were charged R 100 extra for breakfast resulting in us having to go to the city centre to have breakfast there. The family room also has a shower which is not in a very appealing state . There were no complimentary soap , shower gel or hand lotion as per the industry standard. This place has huge potential and is situated in probably the best spot , however very poorly maintained."

    "This place needs a full refurbishment. The place is not that bad but the entire place is not maintained. Toilet and water taps are not working. Reception is not welcoming and employees lacks customer service."

    "Nice view from some rooms BUT there is a lot to improve on. Our room only had 1 plug that worked. No bed lamps, tea cups were chipped, water is running very slowly into the bath and there is no hand shower to was your hear. Also the water is draining very slowly. TV only had unwatchable channels. Our room were dark and muffy. The other people also complained about the plumbing - water was leaking out of the taps and the floors was wet with water. Not very impressed as the pictures on the web does not show the true picture."

    "Suite 4 ....needs a main door; cutlery nd crockery were not sufficient; gas stove not user friendly and please provide extra towels or let guests know they should bring.. Suites were spotless clean."

    "Spacious unit however not maintained at all. Toilet seat broken, only cold shower water in one bathroom, sleeper couch broken and unusable, furniture old and broken and dirty, carpets dirty and tiles broken. Light fittings not working. Building in serious need of TLC and paint. Swimming pools both green and garden not maintained."

    "On our arrival, the maintainance person were sitting at the reception. He took us to our rooms. It was the most disgusting 3 star guesthouse I have ever seen!!! Nothing was like advertused on the internet pictures!!!!! It was very smelly!! Dusty and mouldy!!! The pool as green and dirt was laying around everywhere!! We did not stay there! We left without getting our deposit back.<div>In my opinion as a health official, this place is a his a health and safety risk!!!!</div><div>I will never recommend this place to anyone!!!!</div><div>I will never stay there!!!!</div>"
