Balla-Balla Conservancy

Balla-Balla Conservancy is situated on an exclusive and privately owned game ranch, located in the heart of the Soutpansberg Mountains in the northern region of South Africa.

The conservancy is 9300 acres in size and is remotely situated within the beautiful Soutpansberg Mountains, offering excellent game viewing. The bushveld terrain, which is rocky with hills, requires a medium fitness level. There are a variety of different species to spot at Balla-Balla including buffalo, zebra and kudu.

Self Cater accommodation is provided in three different locations on the farm. BallaBalla Lodge is near the N1 next to the Hendrick Verwoerd Tunnels. Three very large thatched chalets sleeping up 6 persons with private bathrooms, shared kitchen braai area, swimming pool. Large garden ideal for bird watching. Kidgsgrove Lodge is a thatched bush lodge, sleeping 10 people, features solar lighting, an open-plan kitchen with a gas stove and fridge, a lounge and dining room and a lapa with barbecue facilities. Ideal for nature lovers who enjoy the quite and long bush walks. The smaller stone chalets, near the N1, are ideal for overnight stops when travelling on business or leisure, and feature barbecue facilities, sleep two adult guests in single beds and two children on sleeper couch. Only, extra adults in chalet will have additional charges.

Reviews

  • "very basic"

"There was nobody at the gate and no sign where the Bungalows are. We had to call (that's very expensive for "non-south Africans"). The "road" to the Bungalows is an unreasonable demand for normal cars. Very, very Basic and only a candle at the bed table."
