iKhaya Stellenbosch Backpackers

Escape the fast-paced city life and settle down with us in the heart of the Winelands. Stellenbosch is the perfect place to be based whilst touring the Western Cape, whether it be sampling some of our world-class wines or hiking up Table Mountain, the possibilities are endless.

iKhaya, which means my home in the local Xhosa language, is a safe and welcoming backpackers lodge. As your hosts, we know how important it is to choose an accommodation that's best suited to your needs. Our accommodation is neat and clean, and ranges from self-catering apartments to dorm rooms. Each of our apartments features a bathroom as well as a self-catering kitchen, with linen and towels provided for the duration of your stay.

We are a backpackers lodge and therefore may not be suitable to all travellers as we have communal facilities et cetera.

"I have stayed at backpackers before and the term shared bathroom means a bathroom shared with others normally in the passage. We had to share a bathroom that was inside someones room where we had to enter someones room and walked in on someone getting dressed in order to use the bathroom. the manager was not very helpfull and said he has a no refund policy."

"unfriendly reception,no bato phele, not to mention the rude lady at reception, not willing to help and listen to her quests, reception not the place for her, book in Sunday, Monday midday, break in at our place, notwithstanding security gates, 2 laptops,backpack and Nike tekkies stolen, Awful smell in bathroom every time toilette has been used, due to pipes not fixed properly. A definite no, not ever again. (02 April 2014)"

"What a joke! I will NEVER EVER recommend this backpackers. The photos that were taken was probably when they opened 70 years ago!!! The linen wasnt cleaned for the last 3 months at least"
