Kai-Kai Guesthouse is an old country-style house situated on the main road in Steynsburg. Founded in 1872, the small Eastern Karoo town of Steynsburg lies deep within the Eastern Cape sheep farming territory.
At Kai-Kai you can experience personalized country hospitality at its best. We offer six comfortable bedrooms, a restaurant, a fully licensed pub and secure parking. The guest house also has a central lounge area with a TV for all guests.
The small town is nestled in a ring of mountains and hills, located on the intersection of the R56 and R390. This is the perfect place to do absolutely nothing and just relax.
"Fridge has a lot of noise."
"I think the Covid virus has taken it's toll on Kai-Kai as it became more and more obvious of small defects in the running of the B and B. The room itself was fairly good and the bed very comfortable. Werner did his best to provide a supper for me and Maria produced a very good breakfast. The dining room looked well kept aside the fact that all the pictures and certificates all hung at jaunty angles. The worst aspect for me was the bathroom and shower where the latter could have done with a good scrub and bleach. Add to that the lack of any soap (thank goodness i always travel with soap) and then to realize that there was absolutely nowhere to put my soap.....and add to that the fact that I am physically challenged which made life very interesting having to stoop to pick up my soap from the floor. The toilet functioned well but the stain in the bowl I found unacceptable. The tea, coffee etc offered was OK but I had to ask for Rooi Bos tea which I feel should be standard issue"
