  • "shabby...not chic"

    04 April 2016

"We had high expectations from the pictures &amp; details we checked on the site prior to booking.<div>Upon arrival at the gates this was dashed as we saw the shabby entrance...this continued as we tried to avoid the potholes to park.!! I could go on. The interiors had paint &amp; plaster peeling off the walls &amp; electric cables sticking out the walls &amp; a leaking roof into our bedroom when it rained, as it did.<div>The room was average though a shower flush to a wooden floor that flooded after each shower was a dangerous challenge. Even in the room there were missing light bulbs. As for the welcome wine &amp; the option to self cater...non existent unless you wanted to braai outside, in your thermals.</div><div>The breakfast was average, with no choices, but again not worth the money. Many people would be put off with the owners dogs wandering around whilst food was made &amp; one ate.</div><div>On a positive note, the host was welcoming &amp; the location was stunning. I am sorry to say that for this price this did not balance the negatives. I am stunned that this venue gets away with charging their rate.</div><div>As for payment, this is again not how it was advertised. There was no card facility &amp; in the end we had to go to the owner's daughter in another town to pay. Very user friendly.!!!</div><div>Definately not a venue we will be returning to or recommending to anyone.!!!</div></div>"

  • "great location, needs overhaul,"

    11 January 2016

"this was our second visit, this time a bit disappointing, there are far too many dogs in the house, one started whining at 5.30 a.m. for 3 hours, no more sleep after the early morning whining started, we were told by the daughter of the lady of the house that the "poor" dog was sad because it had been left behind for a while. We counted at least 5 dogs and the pack made quite a racket when they were agitated. Other guest complained about the ringing every 15 minutes of an old grandfather clock during the night, no reaction from the hostess. The guests had to take sleeping pills, quite unbelievable.<div>Under these circumstances this B&amp;B can hardly be recommended and there is lots of space for improvements including the quality of the breakfast.</div><div><br /><div><br /><div><br /></div></div></div>"

  • "Below standard"

    03 January 2016

"On arrival the host was not very receptive but seemed ok as we settled in. Nice size room but not well maintained as the cupboards were a bit worn out and shower was leaking. Later discovered that the TV only had two cartoon channels and nothing more, this was a real upset. Looking around the house, the paint was grossly peeling off. We were told that breakfast will be light (crossaints) as it's holidays, (really now, our money is not on holiday)... Gave them a benefit of the doubt and hoped for atleast decent crossaints, to our surprise they only had jam and grated cheese... Served with the worst flavour juice, Awful!!! Nice surroundings but a lot is needed to make the house more appealing especially for their price... It was aashamedly disappointing!!!"

"Zeker een aanrader. Prachtige B&B die op een schitterende locatie ligt. Je kan zo vanuit je kamer het strand op wandelen. De kamers zijn mooi ingericht en zeer proper. Ontbijt is lekker en zeker voldoende."
