Zuidste Huisie Fisherman's Cottage

Zuidste Huisie is accredited with the Department of Economic Development and Tourism and is a self-catering fisherman's cottage within the Langezandt Fisherman's Village development in Struisbaai. The cottage has a thatched roof and is built in the unique style of the original fisherman cottages of the area.

The unit sleeps six guests and is only 150 m away from the beach across the boardwalk. The cottage consists of three en-suite bedrooms with a main queen-size bed, twin single bedroom and one outside cottage with a queen-size bed. The cottage is fully equipped for self-catering with a microwave, stove and oven, washing machine, tumble-dryer, dishwasher and fridge-freezer. The kitchen flows onto an open-plan dining and lounge area with a DStv enabled TV. The lounge and dining area opens onto the entertainment area which is a covered pergola with a built-in braai.

Zuidste Huisie is within walking distance of the Struisbaai Harbour along the beach and only three minutes drive away from the most southern tip of Africa - Cape Agulhas. It is a windswept and desolate stretch of coastline exemplified by the numerous shipwrecks dotted along the rugged coast. Officially the point where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet, the waters off Cape Agulhas are known as the best fishing grounds in Southern Africa.

"The Silence was lovely. A pity that the TV didn't work. Also the WiFi code needs to be corrected. We did not appreciate our word being doubted when as we were driving there, we were told that we still owed the balance after deposit. Whereas we had paid in full on 7 April and Safari had acknowledged this. Annoying."

"After five days in this wonderfully situated little cottage, my family and I can honestly say that we have experienced tranquility and relaxation. With the beach practically on your doorstep, Zuidste Huisie in the beginning of January is spectacular, with modern but modest furnishing, that give the house character and comfort. I can imagine that it must be just as pleasant to use in winter with an electric fire place and lovely thick blankets. In summer, it is cool and quaint and the perfect holiday destination for those looking to enjoy some beach time. The cottage is also near all important amenities, as well as nearby places of interests."

"Die huisie is 'n juweel. Ons het saam met vriende die lekker ruim vertrekke geniet. Lekker knus gesit en wyn drink in die aande terwyl ons lekker kuier en aan diedag se gebeure herkou. Die vis is lekker vars soos dit in die middag by die hawe van die vissers bote afgelaai word. Die vissers en die mense in Struisbaai is warm en vriendelik, knop maklik 'n geselsie aan en deel kennis en inligting oor die gebied. Die viswinkel by Agulhas het die lekkerste vars vis, rou of gaargemaak by die winkel. Hier het ons vergeet van die gedruis in die stad en het ons net ontspan en die lewe geniet."
