Tulani

Tulani is a charming eco-friendly house designed with a grass roof and solar panels, situated in a lush nature reserve.

The downstairs space of the main building consists of an open-plan living area, a kitchen with a gas stove, and a separate study which can be used as bedroom. Upstairs is the main bedroom with two basins and a bidet, as well as a balcony.

A separate studio holds an additional bedroom and bathroom, with an indoor- and outdoor shower. A dry composting toilet is attached to this building.

Rain water is harvested and a solar pump provides drinking water. There is a beautiful wooden deck overlooking the forest that surrounds the house.

Activities in the area include walks in the forest to Natures Valley and Keurboomstrand along the coast, as well as mountain bike trails. Bird life is prolific and wild pigs, monkeys and bush buck often roam the area.

"Tulani is an extraordinary place. Quiet, ingeniously designed and at one with nature. I loved waking up each morning to panoramic views from the upstairs bedroom. It is an idyllic place to stay."

  • "Quirky But Wonderful"

    01 November 2016

"Tulani is not a usual home, the setting, surrounds, layout, design, features are all very special. It is very comfortable with amazing \music\" coming from the surrounding forest. The view is absorbing. A night time bath under the stars memorable. The gravel road was in a fair condition and no cause for concern. Had a great time. ""
