The Cliffs Tyger Waterfront

We offers self-catering apartments at the Tyger Waterfront in Northern suburbs of Cape Town. Modern, fully equipped apartments are available for short-term stays and boast views of the waterfront and surrounds.

Each apartment consists of one or two bedrooms with full bathrooms and the rooms are furnished with doubles and twin beds. Each apartment also has a fully equipped open-plan kitchen with tea and coffee facilities. The apartments have Wifi access.

All the apartments have balconies. The apartments are slef-catering and ad hoc weekday servicing can be arranged. Secure undercover parking bays. Guests can make use of the swimming pool and gym.

Tyger Waterfront offers a choice of restaurants that cater for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Willowbridge Lifestyle Centre and Tygervalley Shopping Centre are located less than five minutes away and offer a wide range of shops and entertainment options. Specialised requirements could be accommodated by prior arrangement and extended stays are negotiable.

    "I really expected more from a place run by an agency. upon our arrival we just had a bad experience. First they gave us a room that I did not book for. instead of a double room with double bed and two single beds we got a single room with double bed. while we were told to wait in the room until they sort our the confusion the real guest of the room arrived and found us standing in his apartment. We eventually got our apartment, but found that it was so invested with cockroaches. On the last night there was apart in the apartment next door which I did not mind, but had to call security to quiet them down at 2am as we did not get any sleep. Against the fridge door there was a not warning about a fine for noise after 23:00. My question, when and to who does this rule apply."

    "I liked the location of the Cliffs, the view and the fact that its so quite. I was able to study without being disturbed.The flat is beautiful, however the following need attention:1. Kitchen tiles are so dirty, must be replaced.2. Blinds on the sliding door to the balcony must be replaced.3. There is a leak in the kitchen between washing machine and fridge.4. Fridge needs attention, it freezes everything.5. DSTV, only SABC2 channel is available from 3 SABC channels which I find very disturbing.     "The apartment is big and have a nice location(near willobridge,Tygervalley and N1). My telephone number was not 'programmed' to work correctly to enter the building. However, the apartment manager SJ was helpfull and showed us the 'alternative'. I would have loved a meet and greet instead of me having to figure out on my own how things work via an SMS(Please note, roaming from a foreign number to SA is expensive so it's not that I can constantly phone for assistance without this costing me a fortune). The wifi worked fine for the first 2 days. After the rain, for some reason it stopped working(No fault of anybody). Our rooms were cleaned each day, however I found traces of the cleaner using the facilities(for example the microwave) during our stay. I did not feel the comfort that our 'goods' were safe and would have preferred the cleaner not to have used facilities during our stay, or better only cleaned the room once we have left.(after 4 days). I have stayed with the cliffs before and apart from the inconvenience of using your phone to gain entrance and a non personal(no meet and greet) experience while checking in, all was fine and it is a lovely place to stay.Regards"

I booked for 1 bedroom double en-suite with superb nothern and waterfront views and for some reasons i ended up getting the room that was on the ground floor with the view of lake, the room was dirty not to mention the toilet; it had discusting stains. I really wonder what gave you the impression that i dont know what the en-suite look like because that dirty not so nice room had no en-suite. You know what?     "Honestly speaking I did not love anything about the unit (Unit 307) I was booked into. 1. The couch was quiet old and not comfortable to sit on2. The main bedroom bed was hard and made squeaky sounds while sitting or sleeping on. I woke up with terrible back pain due to that.3. The cleaners never emptied the bin throughout my stay of 6 days. They did not clean the bath tub as well.4. The curtains in all the rooms were nasty and put up the wrong side/way.5. There was only one blanket in the unit. It's common sense that if one books 2 bedroom (1 double and 2 single beds), there should be 3 blankets for each bed. 6. The access codes were sent way past the check-in time, I tried calling the whole morning no one picked up the phone, I sent sms and emails, I did not get any response.I think the owner needs to invest in buying new furniture for the apartment, new curtains as well as a bit of deco would do justice to that unit/apartment."

    "Im not normally a person that complains as I believe everyone makes mistakes and not everything in life can be perfect but there are a few things that have really grinded my gears.Please see the following below:1. The Wi-Fi is of shocking speed levels (thats if it connects) that a snail can transfer my data faster than this internet.2. The blinds are really not blinds at all I dont know the individuals that have stayed in here previously but they clearly had no respect for this unit.3. The one plug that is the closest to the table that I need to use for working doesnt work at all which needs to be repaired.4. The underfloor heating simply doesnt work which also needs to be repaired as well as the mobile heaters which have wheels thatwellsimply put just fall off.5. There was no electricity left in the prepaid box when entering the apartment.6. The check-in process of which it took more than 2 hours to do as The Cliffs dont answer their phones and if by some miracle they do I get promised the world but to no avail. 7. And to put the icing on the cake, the oh so fantastic access control that I supposedly just phone and bobs your uncle the door unlocks well I have to jump and perform a fantastic dance to get the attention of the security on cctv to open up for me. 8. When the so called "maintenance" guy came to "repair" the issues I had, he came with a nonchalant attitude and did not have the parts necessary.9. With regards to point number eight. All parties involved at the Cliffs brushed off my issues and had the excuse "we are aware of these issues".In summary to all my points above I will NEVER recommend the cliffs as a place to stay nor will I ever stay here again."

    "Was at G01, the flat was flooded twice once on Friday and Once on sat. On Sat stayed at Ridge, very noise, need maintenance. At the Cliff G01, recommend a schedulled maintenance be done. A check list of all items and fixtures should be done and checked. Moved on Sunday to Teh Cliff 707. excellent flat, view excellent, one 230v plug in bedroom dont work. Rieta, is excellent in her work and very supportive. When had the problem in G01 on Friday, tried calling all the numbers, even the emergency ones, no one answered. Eventually got hold off Rieta after 45min trying on numbers on list provided."

    "We enjoyed every moment of our stay at the Cliffs Tyger Waterfront. The biggest surprise was, we were supposed to have a view over the greens, but instead received a suite with a view over water -- perfect!! At arrival, another tenant was parked in our parking bay, and the night security, Thembele handled it with efficiency, and helped us to an alternative parking for the first night. Thembele walked me through the security codes and features, and ensured everything was working properly. The next morning, the day security, Adonis noticed my mom has difficulty walking and gave us a parking bay close to the entrance and elevator. Adonis was not only professional, he was helpful, friendly, and a true example of the competent and fine security that the Cliffs provided. The suite was also a surprise, large with good firm beds, the bedding was snow white with really nice pillows. The couches were comfortable, good DSTV reception. A fully functioning kitchen, clean bathroom, balcony overlooking the waterfalls and lake. Strong security gate at the front door. Our only complaint is the sliding door to the balcony has a screeching sound when closing, and could not lock. But we were on the third floor, so that was not really an issue. We will visit again, and will recommend the Cliffs Tyger Waterfront to friends and family. A fine place, indeed."

    "The area is new, and the apartment lovely in some ways, but the service and logistics are not worth it. There is a convoluted system to gain access to the building, the apartment has no method of air circulation (either fan or a/c), only windows and doors that lack any screen to keep either the bugs (admittedly just a few flies) or birds (possibly more of a pain) out. But the real killer for me was that the internet did not work. I was in contact with the "host" (there is no proper service desk), but then after awhile they just fell silent and still have not gotten back to me after days. I ultimately had to switch to a proper hotel midstay as the lack of internet or service was so bad, and will be demanding a refund, probably by disputing with my credit card as there's been no response so far. Lodging is pretty affordable in the Cape Town suburbs and options are many, no need to venture to this place. There's also no breakfast options within walking distance, so you have to bring your own food or Uber to the mediocre 24-hour diner down the highway!"

The security guard was friendly and most helpful because we could not get in at the ground floor door with the number provided to us which was apparently not activated, and had to assist us every time to get in.<br/>Two further negatives: the sliding door of the lounge cannot lock which poses a security risk. The walkway right in front of the apartment is used by noisy people until very late at night which made sleep rather difficult.<br/>We will try next time for an apartment higher up."

    "The place is very nice and the view beautiful, however it was not entirely clean when we arrived. The people who clean did not do a thourough job at all. The cleaning lady only came once (when we were leaving), so for two days no one came to clean the flat. Under the Bed there was dust used cigarette, kitchen floor was oily and well as the kitchen counters. The bath tub was still dirty you could see it was not properly cleaned as you could still see the stains on the sides. Furniture has dust. All in all the place is very spacious and suited our needs, but with regards to cleanliness it was a big let down."

As we have chosen self catering we wanted to make use of the kitchen. The pans was disgustingly dirty and not usable at all, I bought a pan to use. Some of the crockery was cracked. Generally the kitchen needs attention. I will make use of other apartments on the Tyger Waterfront but The Cliffs have lost me a customer. This was the second time we went as I thought to give them one more try, I did request the kitchen utensils to be cleaned and expected more.<br />"

Had to eventually get to the security since the number given continuously rang &amp; was no answer, eventually security gave me another number for Ricardo, he was kind enough to advise of the unit, and gave me a number to dial at the main door entrance, believe me when I say that never ever worked from day one , I had to constantly call Ricardo as he said it was fine to call him anytime, you think that was fun, he never answered, this was the pits of my frustration, and this was atrocious and unacceptable, I had also asked on several mailers what is the checkout time into the new unit after 2days of hell being in such a small confined space with kids, guess what they sent cleaners at 8;30 stating that I need to check out, where the hell do I go when check in is 14:00, whose fault is this Marie Anne who booked me into two different places, with no decency of even telling the cleaners check out later and moving into next unit due to their incompetence, inconveniencing the client.</div><div style="color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px; background-color: #ffffff;">Garenteed this was not worth R800 p/night which i paid R1300, eventually moved to Unit 307 which was much more spacious but still smaller then what i had booked for, this had to convenience 3 adults &amp; 2 kids, but then further to my disappointment I had to constantly ask for appliances that should have been readily available, no washing hanger, no toaster, no frying pan, no cott, only 4 glasses, plates, teaspoons, forks and cups, how in the living hell do you expect someone to live in a self catered place like this, yet I was patient enough to remain calms and advise them. The shower was not draining water, there was no washing machine which I needed since I was there for 15 days, like really I had to go to a Laundry and spend , over and above this the main Bedroom mattress was completely and utterly finished, the spring were even broken when I tried to rotate, we could not even sleep with terrible back pains for my Sister, husband and kids, I advised Ricardo as this being a major issue, which he said he will have sorted out with Marie Anne immediately, you think either one of them bothered picking up the phone and calling or making attempt to get another one, my frustrations were at the highest of levels, yet I was patient since it was Christmas and gave them time, but not one called, I had to surcome myself to giving up my bed from the 2nd day to my sistr husband &amp; kids which was small and I bunk on the couch being damn uncomfortable, Marie Anne &amp; Ricardo you both are just inconsiderate humans. Furthermore I had to be nasty to even get some attention eventually one night no answer how do I get into a place I paid R1300 p/n, frustrated of me not being able to get into the apartment front doors, had fights with security at late parts of the night based on the factor that the numbers given by Ricardo didn't ever work &amp; security not allowed to open, imagine coming from weddings and arrangement with sleeping kids, waiting for Ricardo/Marie Anne to answer their damn phones. I had so much issues with this place sorry for the foul language but no one would ever want this being on holiday which should be relaxing time, the apartments and area is nice and peaceful but I will never ever recommend anyone to this place, the management is up to no good, no consideration for guests that have paid large sums R20 000 for this totally unacceptable ways of non consideration. i have met so many people in the 15 days that have complained bitterly about the way they are treated and the large sums they paid for incompetence, even a gentlemen in the Penthouse unit lost his cool with the security on entrance, A painful holiday to the bitter end, arranged late checkout which Ricardo agreed due to inconvenience guess what cleaners pop up at 9, that is it from me the loss of words to my frustration has been limited in this mailer, more importantly being the first holiday in Capetown for my family was a sore and bitter end.</div><div style="color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px; background-color: #ffffff;"><br /></div>"

    "Not a good experience at all. The key was not left at the Security Office as it stated on our confirmation. Our booking was not secured even though we had the confirmation in our hands and that we paid in full a few months in advance. After many phone calls we got into the apartment. The blinds were broken and was not up to standard. After some more phone calls we were put into another apartment. More of the same. These apartments are not exclusive and are amongst full time residents. The disgusting cigarette smoke hanging in the lift lobby on the fifth floor did my asthma no favors. One good thing is that the manager/owner was happy to refund us a 100%. It is a pity that this bad experience has tarnished all other self-serviced apartments. We will steer well clear of these in the future."

    "We booked the penthouse suite and another suite spending just about R17000.00 on accommodation. Which in my mind was a waste of money. There was no one that was responsible for our issue. 1. The flat ran out of electricity at 4:30pm after a long day out and we only got someone to add power at 8:00pm that night. Only to have the maids the next morning ask us why we are using so much power and we must not put the air conditioning on and don't use the heated towel rails that they provide. 2. After another long day out we got back to the flat only to have the door not open. Again no one to answer our problems after 2 hours of standing outside and trying a lady phones and says we have the wrong pin to enter.( but it worked previously) and I still have the SMS she sent with the pin we where using.3. For two days into our stay we didn't get fresh towels and didn't get the flat cleaned. After much arguing with the supervisor we eventually got towels.4. We booked to stay over from the 27th of December to the 4th of January 2014 after every single day of complaint and me calling no one bothered to tell us there will be no maid service on the 1st of January 2014. So again the flat was not cleaned we had no towels , no toilet roll and no one cared about this. 5. We are true blood South Africans and make a plan to do the best of what we giving and like to braai. They have a very nice looking braai place but looks like it hasn't been cleaned for months the patio was messed with bird droppings, floors we full of dust and the overflow water from the aircon just follows on the floor. We could not have a braai neither could we enjoy the patio because when I asked the maids to clean the outside they told me "it was not their job and if we wanted to use it we should clean it our selfs" The lady we delt with apon booking this disgusting place was unreachable our enire stay as she was gone on holiday. The number we where given to call if we needed anything was answered by another lady that just said she didn't she will try and help which was I turn no help at all. We are frequent travelers and have been to many place in South Africa and the world I have never been more disappointed at the way we where treated and the accommodation that we booked. I urge travelers that want to visit the cliffs it is a very nice place on the outside but be careful who you book with and make sure that there's someone who can answer your questions and sort your problems out. I would honestly not recommend this place to anyone."

    "very very disappointed, we were booked into a room and when we got there, people were still there and stayed another night we had extreme difficulty getting hold of the person who manages the complex, eventually after 20:00 they sorted out another room for us and then made us move from the unit the next day and the unit we stayed in had no wifi or dstv as advertised, the 2nd place we booked was full of dirty dishes and the excuse we got was the plumbing was blocked. The managing agent also did not bother to call to see if it is sorted out.I would not go there again nor recommend this place to anyone. we had guests from Canada and it was a absolute disgrace, we were promised a refund for 1 night for 1 unit and we booked 3, which we are still waiting for.........."

    "To whom it may concern, what a disappointment. The pictures, the view, etc. looks and seems exclusive, but on my arrival I noticed that the braai drum on the stoep was full of cigarette buds. Moving to the kitchen I noticed the microwave still has popcorn pips in it, the sponge at the basin was brown, the toothbrush holder and cup was still white of the previous persons toothpaste, a brown mark on the wall behind the toilet, the shower water did not drain as you had to stand in a puddle of water while showering and smelly is not the word, with that the corners and outer rail of the shower is packet with mold. I do not think that is the standard that you would like to be as we as Toyota can refer so many referals to you but not with that type of standards."

    "When someone from another country makes a reservation for two nights, it's a pretty good clue they're using this as a hotel not a long-term apartment. That being the case, it would have been nice to know when we made our reservation that there would be no soap, toilet paper, etc. Also, the room was not particularly clean and when I turned down my bed to go to sleep, there was dirt and hairs in it. Disgusting. You didn't even give me clean sheets! The information in the room also says there would be a cleaning person coming to change linens, etc. at 10:30 AM, and no one ever came. I won't be staying here again and think I got ripped off as I paid for things I obviously didn't get."

I only have one small complaint - I would have liked two cushions because the one was too soft. When you lay your head down, you almost touch the mattress.     "What we loved about the apartment: It is very clean; the luxury tray of chocolates and chilled bottle of sparkling wine waiting for us in the fridge; the heated floors and soft, fluffy towels; the beautiful, modern décor; the amazing view of the Tyger Waterfront; the perfect water pressure of the bath and shower; the comfortable beds and the flat-screen TV. What we didn't love: That our schedules only allowed us to stay for one night! I'd recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a reasonably priced, luxury home away from home."
