BallynaFagh Farm

Nestled in the beautiful Kruis Rivier Valley, at the end of a country road, BallynaFagh is ideally situated approximately 7 km from Uitenhage in the Eastern Cape. This working horse and lucern farm is the perfect place to relax and unwind.

Enjoy an evening by the fire, catching glimpses of the numerous birds and wildlife that frequent the area, and later, recharge in our beautifully refurbished guest cottage. Awake to the sounds of fish eagles overhead and horses whinnying softly in the paddocks.

The guest cottage is an open-plan self-catering unit comprising an open-plan kitchen and dining room with a comfortable sleeping area and a separate bathroom and toilet. Newly renovated and refurbished, the cottage is the perfect escape for local couples to come and enjoy a relaxing time, without the expense or time of driving far to get there. The cottage also has a separate entrance, so guests can come and go as they please.

We are surrounded by vegetable, citrus and lucern farms, with stunning views of the Winterhoek mountains and the Groendal Wilderness Nature Reserve. Guests can enjoy bass fishing in the river, hiking trails, romantic picnics by the river, or a midnight picnic on the mountain. Horse rides can also be provided, if arranged in advance, and a range of holistic massages and treatments can be arranged on request.

The farm offers much for the horse- and nature-lover, and provides an ideal escape from the hustle and bustle that is modern life. BallynaFagh has the unique distinction of an unsurpassed countryside experience, while being only a short 25-minute drive from the city of Port Elizabeth.
