Phumula Beach Cottage

Phumula Beach Cottage is on the front row of the main beach in Umhlali. Stairs lead from the garden onto the beach giving the easiest beach access anyone could ask for. The house sleeps 12 people comfortably and is fully equipped for your comfort.

Three of the bedrooms have queen-size beds and the other three have twin beds. Each of the bedrooms has a fan for the summer months. Linen is provided and towels can be arranged on request. The house has a TV and is setup for DStv, however guests are required to bring their own decoder and smart card.

The house has a fully equipped kitchen for self-catering purposes as well as a washing machine, a tumble-dryer and a dishwasher for your added convenience. The patio overlooks the garden and further onto the ocean and has braai facilities for outdoor entertaining.

The house has an alarm system and is monitored by a security company so that your biggest worry will be the weather. A lock-up safe is available for your valuables.

This is a beach-focused house with easy access to swimming, tanning and strolls along the sand. The garden is large and ideal for children that like to play. The area boasts three stunning golf courses when the beach is not appealing. The local sugar mill affords visitors first-hand experience at the crushing of sugar cane.

  • "Amazing stay"

"What an amazing venue for our holiday. It is literally on the beach. The house itself is beautiful and well maintained. The domestic workers were friendly and accommodating. We found the owner to be responsive, friendly and professional. Couldn't be more happy with the venue. Wow wow wow. Ten out of ten!"

  • "Lovely venue with poor hospitality"

    08 October 2015

"While the venue is lovely, we found the manner of the owner after our deposit was paid to be quite offish. Only after our deposit was paid, did she bother to mention water restrictions in the area and her general telephone manner was short of anything resembling polite. Also, the security of the establishment was used as a 'selling point' in it's description, but we had an amount deducted from our breakage deposit because the security company had to respond to an alarm on the property. Overall, I wouldn't recommend a stay at Phumula Beach Cottage as when planning a getaway, it's not only the venue that counts, but the manner in which you are treated as guests."
