Wyford Farm

Wyford Farm is situated in a pretty, mountainous area off Van Reenen Pass along the N3. Being built in the 1870s, it has a rich history as a trading store on the route between Johannesburg and Durban.

The farm is now a small working farm with beef cattle, pigs, sheep and horses which visitors may interact with. We are approximately 40 km from Ladysmith and Harrismith. Day trips are possible to battlefield sites and Northern Berg resorts.

We offer comfortable accommodation in four separate and private self-catering units which each have their own TV, car port, braai area and garden. They are serviced daily. Each one has a fireplace inside and a braai outside. Pets can be accommodated in three of the cottages that have fenced gardens.

Wyford is a paradise for children allowing them to experience the freedom of wide open spaces and interaction with farm animals. The farm also has a swimming pool, horse riding, mountain biking, hiking, walking and birding. Guests need to bring their own mountain bikes.

I fullyunderstand that a geyser can malfunction at any time. It is alsounderstandable that it was impossible to get someone out to repair the geyser ona Saturday at such a late hour. My complaint was handled professionally and theapology was accepted in the light of the circumstances. Thank you Wyford Farm, will definitely book for an overnight stay again!!<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, sans-serif;"></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, sans-serif;">Kindregards<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, sans-serif;">Stoffelde Beer<o:p></o:p></span></p>"

When the booking was made, we indicated that we had a 9month old baby who will accompany us. We were placed in the Jacaranda Cottage, but unfortunately there was no Hot water for bathing the little baby. We wereoffered a bathroom inside the house. While I was busy braaiing, my wife, daughter and grandchild used the bathroom inside the house. When finishingbraaiing, I want to use the bathroom as offered, but the main door was lockedand I was unable to use the bathroom. No one responded when knocking on thedoor. I use the shower in the cottage where only Cold water was available....As a result of this, we could not shower the next morning and returned homewithout a nice shower/bath. I think they must use a "CheckList" before the guests arrive to make sure everything is in workingorder. Like they say in South Africa..
