"Great Stay and excellent service"
"Stunning place, neat, awesome people, good food."
"No cellphone coverage means total relaxation from the "Rat race""
"a very pleasant and interesting setting."
"The Chic Shacks were perfect as was the location on the Orange river. My only point would be to build small ablution block for them as far from general one. Delightful hosts and lovely dinner and breakfast they prepared for us. Would definitely go back."
"Very bad gravel road. Lost a tyre. Scenic river route. Enjoy the campfire. Very basic. Pay for WiFi"
"Dit was n onvergeetlike naweek. Ruan en sy mense was van die vriendelikste en behulpsaamstes wat ons al tee gekom het. Anton wat ons gids was vir die dag met die roei het hom goed van sy taak gekwyt. Die kos was heerlik. Die picnic mandjie vir sondag was uitstekend. Sal defnitief weer soon toe gaan. Alles is netjies en skoon. Louise en Kobus"
"We loved the atmosphere, the eco-friendliness and the funky showers. The stars were phenomenal and the campsites were very convenient. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the doggies were lovely. Thank you for a lovely experience. We will definitely be back!!"
"Everything was absolutely clean, beautiful, welcoming, nice, bright, fresh, the only thing that wasnt easy is the distance quiet long to teach the camp without a 4*4, but fort the rest, the host were wonderful, the bed, the orange river close, the food, the shower : a wonder for a camp! MERCI !"
"We satyed in the camp, plenty of shade, Everything was perfect, Ruan was extremely accommodating, would love to return soon!"
"We loved the Growcery and will definitely be back to stay for longer. Thanks Ruan and team!"
"The staff offer friendly, personalized service and made us feel very welcome. The camping sites are on an embankment right next to the Orange river and have lots of shade under trees and lots of grass. There is power and water at every site. Ablutions are tidy and spacious. The 21 km from Vioolsdrift are on a heavily corrugated and dusty dirt road but the Growcery experience is more than worth this minor inconvenience and can be traveled by normal sedan vehicle.. The bar area has a nice atmosphere and the noise levels from there are low, even at the sites closest to the bar."
"Welcoming hosts and the place is very well kept."
"By far the best thing about this beautiful site is the fact that the hosts are in fact guides that also work for the safari company Umkulu, for which The Growcery is the base camp. This means that as a guest you are being hosted by people that have a passion for their work, knowledge and curiosity of the region, and a nothing-is-too-much-to-ask attitude to guests. I was amazed by how much care the guides took in hosting us. We felt really well cared for, and could thus have a deeply relaxing experience by the river."
"The crew at the camp is the best we came across on our whole trip through Namibia. The food prepared for us by Ruhan was excellentOne of the best stay-over stops we had."
"It was a great place to stay over - staff very friendly! Good, chilled vibes....definitely worth going..."
"Very friendly, relaxed, inviting atmosphere! Lovely green grass to camp on. Facilities were great! Really enjoyed our time there!"
"Pleasant neat and surprising keep up the good work will go again."
"Both the facilities as well as the ablution at this venue is awesome. a Shower under the stars is just fabulous and the artificial mist at the bar area really wowed us !<div><br /></div><div>The only critique is the speedbump some idiot built accross the accessroad to the site. I took some damage to the bottom of the sump, scraping over at snail pace.</div><div><br /></div><div>Had a super time.</div>"
"With a hearty welcome and home like atmosphere, wehad a fabulous overnight stayon the river banks atThe Growcery. Thanks for making our en routestay specialwith your clean, tidy andunique faciclity."
"Spent 4 nights right on the Orange river. Fantastic facilities - clean and green. :) Staff super friendly and laid back. If you are a dog lover, then this is the place for you.<div>Will hopefully return.</div>"
"We were disappointed by our stay at the Growcery. After following directions we came to a closed and seemingly locked gate without any signposting or bell. The Namibian cell number provided to contact the camp struggled to connect and to get through and we had to spent 20 minutes in pitch black darkness with a very afraid 4 year old before we saw someone running with a torch towards us. We were not informed that the shacks had no lights or electricity or that there are no light provided at the barbeque area. The lamps that were placed on the tables in the common area did not have any fuel in them, were we inclined to use them. Luckily I have a handy husband who believes in always having a torch and solar lamp or two - without these we would have been lost. Although the two staff members that we dealt with was very friendly, we had to ask for the bedding that we booked - and when these arrived it consisted out of a sleeping bag and pillow - this does not constitute "bedding" in my mind. The showers were clean and had warm water but were situated rather far from the shacks AND we had to walk past the bar area to get there. The shacks have mosquito netting in front of the windows, but I don't know why anyone bothered. There are holes the size of a fist all along the "windows" which allowed mosquito's and all manner of other flying things to enter the shack undisturbed and in a steady stream despite the doom that we sprayed thinking that all holes were sealed. We could have slept outside for all the good the "protection" of the shack did.<br /><br />We will not make use of this facility again or recommend it to anyone.<br />"
"We had a very relaxed holiday. The 4 day paddle was exceptional with the guide being knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. For not having any facilities the food was excellent.<div>Back at camp the facilities were everything that you would want and hope for in a 'rustic' camp site. Hennie and his staff have done a fantastic job.</div>"
"Dis 'n fantastiese plek. Kan dit aanbeveel vir enige iemand. Die diens is puik, asook ons ete. Die chick chaks is pragtig en heerlik om in te slaap."
"A great place with great people in a spectacular surroundings. Facilities are spotless and staff is efficient, friendly and helpful."
"Very neat campsite on the banks of the Orange River. Friendly staff. Great stay, you will see us in 2015."
"Great campsite, extremely helpful staff, very well maintained grounds and facilities. We spent 2 great nights at the Growcery. The setting is magical, the Orange River a welcome refreshment after hot hot days. A bunch of super friendly dogs that keep you company is an added bonus. We can recommend the Growcery to the absolute fullest!"
