  • "Beautiful"

    28 January 2015

"Stunning views of the Wilderness Beach. Lots of singing birds in the garden. Lovely swimming pool and braai area. The spacious luxury suite was beautifully and tastefully decorated and very clean. Perfect little kitchenette with a fridge. We enjoyed not having TV, gave us a chance to talk to one another and read. Its best to drive to the flatter part of the Wilderness Beach if you want to swim as there are life-guards on duty and the sea currents can be strong."

  • "Stunning views"

    04 November 2014

"Heavenly views. Saw whales and dolphins from the cliff-top garden. Stunning bathroom and room but not really self-catering as there is only a microwave and a small fridge with some basic crockery and cutlery. Also would be nice to have a sofa or comfy chairs to relax on. There is a bed and a small wooden table and chairs. Also you need to drive to an area where you can access the beach as it is precarious to try climb down the cliff-face from the property itself. Wish the layout of the property was better explained on the website. Friendly, efficient manager Gordon was helpful."

  • "Peace and beauty on the 'edge'"

    15 December 2013

"Aquarius is perfect for a group taking over the whole house - stunning views although its not ON the beach (as the picture shows) but on a high bluff, lovely rooms, pool, etc, or for a quick stay as you're passing through Wilderness. We were hoping for a peaceful rest without having to go anywhere. The best part is sitting in the garden overlooking the sea where no construction or people noise can be heard! We happened to stay at a time when a house was being built across the road, and renovations were taking place in Aquarius - not very peaceful. None of the rooms are self-catering as such although the web says that they are - the luxury suites have more of a 'tea kitchen', and the bungalow kitchen is very minimal with no cleaning materials. Also no comfortable outside chairs for those with tired bodies - we brought our own cushions. If you're not booking the whole house, be prepared to eat out. Ken was very helpful and welcoming and we would stay again if we had a large family and could book the whole house with access to the full kitchen/lounge etc."

  • "No "welcome""

    30 September 2013

"Bookings and all went well, but I did not spot the cell number of the owner in the email correspondence and upon arrival I could not find a name on the building OR the front door OR the bell outside the front gates. My hooting also attracted no response. Website does not contain any contact details other than email. Also did not receive a courtesy call from owner to find out if I am on track to arrive on time and even not one when I arrived late to see if all OK. So make sure you have cell phone number of owner and your cell batteries charged and then I am sure you will have a pleasant stay...which I unfortunately did not.<br></br><b>Establishment's response</b><br></br><i> Thank you for your feedback which is always welcome.<br></br>Please note, your chosen booking agency is safarinow.com. Historically Safari has provided complete details on confirmed bookings to all guests including contact tel nos. address, map, payment and accommodation details, and if contact tel nos. were not received then Safari now is at fault, and this matter should be taken up with Safari.<br></br> Upon your telecon to Safari it was indicated that your arrival time was well after 5pm. Although Safari policy is to cancel booking after this time, we have always welcomed guests at any time, day or night. I personally took the painter home as 5.15 pm and returned to Aquarius shortly after.<br></br> Usually guests call prior to arrival their estimated time of arrival. Your mail refers that you didn't have the Aquarius tel no. Im not sure I understand why you didn't call Safari to ask for the number or why Safari didn't give you complete details.<br></br> Please note on the day of your arrival, I personally was at home the entire day, together with a painter who was varnishing windows on the front of the house. There are many deliveries to the house, such as Penny pinchers, Boardware, my car mechanic, friends and yesterday the Vet delivered my dog. There has never been a problem with these arrivals and this is the first time ever there has been this problem.<br></br> Aquarius does have a door bell which has been sitting on a shelf in the garage for the last 3 years. It was removed for the tranquility of guests due to unnecessary callers ringing the bell and disturbing the guests.<br></br> When someone hoots at the gate, the dog barks and the painter is quick to tell me, I wonder if you were at the right address since it appears you had little or no details?<br></br>In any event, Aquarius is not happy things didn't work out.<br></br>We wish to extend an invitation to you, courtesy of Aquarius accommodation and a very warm welcome.</i>"

  • "Enjoyed our stay!"

    12 August 2013

"Really enjoyed our visit to Wilderness. The Aquarius guesthouse was ideal to explore the area. Ken was very welcoming and had lots of great suggestions of what to do during our visit. The accommodation was very clean and perfect for our needs. Would recommend! and you can't beat the view for sundowners outside."

  • "Amazing getaway"

    31 May 2013

"The 4 of us had a lovely stay at Aquarius. Ken was a great host and recommended things to do around the town. The suites were cozy, view spectacular and we slept like babies, it was only the best."

  • "Thank you for the great stay"

    28 March 2013

"Your place, the room we stay in were great. Few negative things were a lack of cooking facilities, no tv. Besides all that it was great and we will be definitely come back and have told our friends about your place as well. Regards Jonathan and Samantha Vorster"

  • "Self-catering excellence"

    18 January 2013

"The unit we occupied at Aquarius was tastefully designed and beautifully appointed, and of course the view from the garden is stunning. Our only comment on design is that a completely open plan leads to window condensation when the shower is used, but even that is only temporary. Our welcome by Anthula and Gordon was much appreciated"

  • "Gorgeous sea view"

    01 August 2012

"Yes, a lovely view of the sea is available from all units. Then there's a very, very steep path (private path) down to a long stretch of virtually deserted beach - great for long walks! As for the unit, be prepared because it's not REALLY self-catering, unless you book the unit with a full kitchen. Otherwise, you might need to plan the short 5-minute drive back into Wilderness for dinners. The unit we stayed in did have a small fridge and microwave. We stayed in the upper one, and I'd recommend that over the lower unit (more sun and warmer in the winter). Ken does supply a small oil fin heater, but do be prepared as it might be chilly."

  • "Seafront"

    13 March 2012

  • "Great getaway"

    24 February 2012

"Aquarius is very comfortable and very private. It will suit people that are not looking to feel pampered because the rooms are not serviced and toiletries were not provided. My room and the en-suite bathroom was very spacious and had a kitchenette with a fridge, a sink and a microwave. I also had a great view from the room and private balcony. The view from the garden is spectacular and there is a private, although quite steep, walkway down the dune to the beach. I enjoyed my four-night stay."

  • "Great"

    19 December 2011

"Even though we were only there for a stay over on our way to St Francis I would recommend this venue to anyone looking for great self-catering accommodation. View was magnificent and the sound of the sea kept us company all night. Beds were comfortable and decor was very modern and luxurious. I am sure we will be back for a longer stay."
