"The hostel is situated in a vibrant black community, which is fine at daytime, but after sunset you should not walk around alone. If you stay at home you can have a good time as there is a library, TV, internet, billiard... And the staff is so nice I can't even find words to describe it! At daytime you will find all the shopping-opportunities you need and by bus it's a quick ride downtown. So if you want to see a part of the real Jo'burg, you should say hello to Patience and her staff."

"We had a great time--used three of their rooms for a very reasonable price. The staff and other guests were friendly, and the rooms were more than decent. They had internet and many brochures and tourist info, as well as free coffee and tea. The only thing that might stop some people is that the neighbourhood is a little rough--think Brooklyn--but we had no problem. We took public transport everywhere--really close--and the grocery stores, etc are in walking distance. Would definitely return and recommend the 2B Happy Lodge."

"Absolute heaven. I'd travelled across the Indian Ocean by sailing boat and visited some amazing places but 2B Happy Backpackers Lodge was a real find.Everything I could possibly want for comfort, shops just round the corner, lovely and peaceful, amazingly clean, really beautiful room, wonderful people, loads of good info on safaris and travel through Africa. Really can't praise it enough."
