Ocean View Hotel

Nestled virtually on the beach in a small magnificent bay between great towering cliffs and the sparkling Indian Ocean, the Ocean View Hotel is the Wild Coast coastal-country hotel which has earned the highly recommended accolades from the AA Travel Guides. Accommodation is characterised by light and airy double and / or twin-rooms, most of which boast spectacular views of the sea. Spacious family units look out across the sub-tropical gardens. All rooms are very comfortably furnished and have en-suite bathrooms.

Do as much, or as little, as you like here. Adrenaline addicts will get their kicks abseiling down a sheer cliff face, or enjoying a ride on our mountain bikes for hire through trails with great vistas of the sea always just a stones throw away. If you prefer the pace to be steadier, then the guided 4x4 trips to nearby places of local interest, including the renown and geographical iconic nearby Hole-in-the-Wall, can also be arranged. Other popular activities include rock and surf fishing, diving and snorkelling.

When youve had you fill of beachcombing, swimming, surfing and boogie boarding the sparkling pool in the hotel gardens is always a refreshing alternative place to kick-back and relax in this tropical environment where you will also find our dedicated pool-bar right there for any beverage of your choice.

If you prefer to rather relax on a quiet terrace, then the well shaded and elevated patio / veranda full-bar facility with its fantastic panoramic views of the ocean, and those gentle cooling sea breezes, with the rolling incoming breakers almost at you feet, is the place for you.

Next door, from December this year onwards, you will find our special little emporium offering a fair selection of many items of local handicraft together with many other little items one looks for when on holiday.

With our own secluded private Wild Coast beach just meters away from your rooms we also arrange those much sought after evening sunset beach-braais for your enjoyment.

Our attractive thatched conference centre, shaded buy Milkwood trees, is the ideal venue for meetings, workshops and company get-togethers. However, during peak holiday season, this comfortable facility doubles as a television lounge and games room.

    "The ocean view is a nice place to relax and completely forget your daily stress. Coffee Bay has a beautiful small beach but it is an adventure to get there by car, lots of potholes, animals on the street and therefore slow driving. The hotel was clean and bice. All meals are included. You find something to eat but the variety is not that big (salads were the same for lunch and dinner). A place to recommend."

    "From turning off the N2 to being back on the N2 an amazing experience! Sjoe, what a bad road to Coffee Bay! The pot holes are one thing, but even encountering Roadworks are even worse. Ocean View....a beautiful spot. Rooms fine. Dinner excellent! Staff very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, I have to say the hotel needs a major make over. Will I visit again? For sure, but only if I own a 4X4!"
