  "I loved the warm welcome from receptionist.The calm green atmosphere and the quiet waters of Orange River.I enjoyed staying atop the river on the hanging balcony.Not to mention the sumptuous dinner served in the evening.However ,the entrance to the lodge at the main gate (tar road),nearly lost me.It needs clearing of the lush vegetation.I do not complain about the dirt road.Actually I loved it."

  "We had a lovely stay. The rooms are clean and neat with everything you need. The beds are comfy. And there is beautiful green grass everywhere! The only improvement I can think of is to maybe put a aircon in all the rooms as it gets very warm in summer."

  "The place is beautifully situated. However the advert says Buffet Dinner @ R160 per person and R80 per child. This was not a buffet as one knows a buffet. It was R160 per plate of food, which consisted of Rice, Gravy, sweet potato, carrots, leg of lamb, chicken and a salad. Dessert was extra, which is misleading a a buffet includes starters, main course and dessert. Our dinner for 2 adults and 1 child cost R700+ for 1 plate of food, 2 seconds are charged for as well as dessert was an extra charge."

  "We stayed overnight to our final destination. Rooms are clean and neat and still gives the holiday atmosphere.<div>The dinner available was a traditional homecooked meal which we thoroughly enjoyed.</div><div>Only the parking was a slight hick up as people want to park right at their rooms ending up in people parking each other in.   "We stopped overnight on our CPT-JNB trip. It was such an amazing spot, I wish we discovered it sooner. The photos dont do it justice. Bonus for us was that it's pet friendly, so our dog had a good play and swim in the river before we set out in the morning. We will definitely be back. Only note to fellow travellers - don't follow Google directions. Use directions on their website."

  "On the positive side: The stay was okay. The units are clean and well equipped. The service was friendly.On the negative side: There were small red wasp nests all around the units and the play gym for the children. My 4 year old daughter got sting 3 times in one afternoon. We do suggest they remove the nests around the units and play areas.On the morning of the 2nd of January 2009 at 2:00 the workers of the Lodge started to shout, party and play their music very loud. We were staying in one of the tenthouses and we could not sleep at all. This went on until after 4:00 in the morning. We did not get a good nights rest at all. This incident will definitely make us thinks twice the next time we make a booking.The 5 km dirt road will also make us think twice when planning our next trip."

  " We found River Destiny Lodge a stunning stop between the Eastern Cape and Pretoria at the end of our holiday. As can be expected it was quiet busy, both in the camping section and the accommodation sections, but never unpleasant, noisy or such likes.We found the 2 rooms (interleading) which the family shared of an extremely high quality, fresh linen and towels, equipment to keep one going (fully kitted). At the price, I must say that it put some other accommodation we used during our holiday period, to shame! A definite winner.The facilities such as the restaurant, shop, swimming pool and pub were well looked after, and we treated ourselves to a meal in their restaurant. At R55 for a Durbanville Hills Sav-Blanc and R70 for their Mixed Grills, with 2 man size sausages, 2 huge mutton leg chops and an awesome steak, egg, chips and a salad – WOW - be assured that it was definitely a winner in my family.We have already told other people about the venue, will certainly use it again and have had similar reports this week on our return from other work colleague’s family who also stayed there.The only bug bare I have with many venues, and unfortunately this one too, is that they feel they must play loud music all day while people lounge around the pool, grass & pub area, when we are sitting on the stunning banks of the Gariep / Orange River in a stunning natural environment. I find this at many of the regional camping locations – senseless really...But let this not detract from a stunning venue, great hospitality and a error free booking experience. Well done all at SafariNow.Com and Destiny River lodge."
