Paradise Village

Paradise Village is a resort situated on the banks of the beautiful Magalies River, at the foot of the Magliesberg Mountains. This peaceful environment, with an umbrella of indigenous trees, offers tranquility, beautiful nature and a real getaway with true South African hospitality, only 45 km from Pretoria and 70 km from Johannesburg.

Accommodation is offered in wooden chalets, that sleep two, four or six guests. Some of the chalets are en-suite while others share a bathroom. All linen is supplied and all of the chalets have braai facilities. There are also two fully equipped self-catering kitchens that contain gas stoves, a microwave, fridge-freezer, cutlery and crockery, and all necessary equipment. In other words, all you need to bring is your food and drinks, wood and ice. There is a swimming pool and a TV room with DStv. that guests are welcome to use whenever they want.

Paradise Village is also ideal for functions, small weddings, group bookings, bachelor parties or simply a romantic break away. Day visitors are welcome for an additional fee. Things to do in the area include hiking and horse trails nearby, a cheese farm, hot-air ballooning, elephant and monkey sanctuary, a snake park, boast cruises and golf courses.

  • "Not worth it.."

    29 October 2018

"Everything needs to be improved.. the unit where we stayed in was dirty, outside was not cleaned with a mulberry tree above entrance to unit, and needed to walk through this to get into the unit, with carped being dirty with these stains of previous guest. Cutlery was dirty which we had to use. There was no jacuzzi as per advertisement. (was not working - thought each unit has one, which was not the case at all) was not informed beforehand this is not working. Your view of the "river" was spoiled with a washing line with washing.<br/>Nonnie was very helpfull & very friendly. <br/><br/>Establishment Response:<br/><br/>It is so difficult to answer a review of a guest who waved me goodbye with a smile and a thank you, and then somehow on his way home thought about something to critisize. Kindly have a look at my rating of the guest, I said he was pleasant, and rated him 5, because there were NO complaints.<br/> <br/>The only consulation is that out of the 26 guests who visited the resort the past weekend, his was the only negative feedback. For a guest who slept one night, booked in at 10.00 on Saturday, and requested to book out late on Sunday, which I gladly agreed to?<br/> <br/>I am here for 20 years, and never advertised jacuzzi's at each unit. The 2 outside jacuzzi's were removed 2 years ago, and all the agencies changed it accordingly.<br/> <br/>As for the Marlburry tree, it is a problem this time of the year. We don't want to remove the tree, because it is only for 2 weeks, the rest of the year it is a lovely tree, which supply shade, and food for birds and the fish in the river. The stains on the carpet is my problem to remove, which I did before the weekend.<br/> <br/>Unfortunately this is a running business. The other guests booked out at 10.00 Sunday morning, and we had to wash the linen to get it ready for the next booking. The washing line is in front of my house and not in front of his unit (I can supply pics).<br/> <br/>I was here the whole time, as well as the guy who works for me, and asked him to please tell me if there is a problem, on which he said he will, he has my WA number. Ons Saturday afternoon I sent him a WA and asked if everything was ok, on which he replied positive."

  • "Not what we were expecting"

    29 December 2017

"We ended up leaving and did not spend a night. The outside is charming. The interior of the place was lacking. For the money they charged I was expecting better quality. The bathrooms where off putting and we felt a bit like we were not safe when it came to the electrical cabling with exposed wires in an entirely wooden setup. People are nice but lots of TLC required there."

"<p>I had the pleasure of staying at Paradise Village over the weekend. And what an interesting and nice setting it has. Right next to the Magalies River, with a lovely swimming pool and Jacuzzi! Rested very well. The cottages have got a rustic feel to them; Nonnie is a lovely host. Will gladly recommend this place to anyone that wants to get away from the busy rushed city life, and experience tranquility and peace.<br></br></p><p></p>"

  • "complete and utter disappointment"

    02 January 2015

"This place is like a nightmare & the crude owner Nollie is a piece of work. We got there to a dirty pool that we cleaned before using (even though you could not see below the surface). Stayed in a chalet that did not lock from the inside due to the latch being damaged. The chalets felt like it had not been vacuumed in weeks! Unlucky for us it rained that night, which of course meant the roof leaks drenching the carpets. Next morning, instead of complaining Mum asked one of the helpers on the property to assist her in cleaning the chalet (should have been done before we got there). The room felt so much better only to be offensively verbally attacked by the owner forcing us to leave immediately. In utter shock by her appalling behavior towards us just for making our environment more comfortable, we requested a refund for the night we would not be using, but of course she refused. Sadly my worst experience ever. Don't waste you money nor subject your loved ones to this Horrendous experience!"

  • "Horrible"

    02 June 2014

"Our stay was not nice at all, we actually left at 10pm due to the fact that the place was dirty rat droppings everywhere the constant smell of fire, you are not greeted by the right people of the lodge but rather one of the workers, in general you were not welcomed in the correct manner and the security was not good you were left with an unsafe feeling."
