Number 25 On Oyster

Number 25 On Oyster is a recently renovated and beautifully decorated holiday home, situated in the heart of Umhlanga Rocks. Umhlanga remains a highly popular seaside resort with its wide and sandy beaches lined with exclusive hotels and apartment blocks. The beaches are filled with umbrellas and sun worshippers, whilst locals enthusiastically walk the promenade at sundown.

The house has five spacious bedrooms, sleeping a total of 10 guests comfortably. All the rooms are air-conditioned and have three en-suite bathrooms. The house has a beautifully manicured garden and a private swimming pool for some fun in the sun as well as outside dining and lounging areas. A modern, white-topped, open-plan kitchen looks onto a spacious lounge and dining area. There is plenty of parking with shade for three vehicles. The house is serviced daily, except on Sundays. All bedding, bath and beach towels are provided as well as a wide selection of baby equipment. Laundry facilities are available. We are animal friendly for pets up to 20 kg in weight.

Gateway Shopping Centre, one of the biggest shopping centres in the country, means that staying in Umhlanga one has little reason to venture elsewhere. The OConnor Promenade that stretches from Durban View Park all the way to Breakers and the start of the Umhlanga Lagoon Nature Reserve, provides a wonderful way to stretch ones legs right at the sea. Have a walk past the famous Umhlanga Lighthouse and explore the numerous restaurants.

"Beautiful House Good Housekeeper. Rented the full property for two weeks, but when i arrived there were guests still there in the annex room and they didn't move out until the next day the owners just assumed this was ok and I see from other review this is not the first time this has happened. Security was very bad, the alarm only worked one time in the two weeks we were there, the maid told me the day i arrived that the alarm didn't work but the owners insisted it did. No locks on the patio doors, just a button to push down. The panic button worked but that was in the annex room. My brother wrote a review about the property saying property was lovely but security was not good. The very rude owner rang me over the review and said hes overseas client's would not be happy and all we did was have drunken pool parties. I can assure anyone reading this review that we did not have one party, we went out to eat everynight as we were on holidays and our ages well lets just say all over 55 except for two younger people, and drunken pool parties would have been the furthest thing from our minds. I was furious with his statement just because we complained about security and lets face it this was South Africa we are talking about. Anyway the house is lovely but I would not recommend it unless you were very sure the security was working."
