River Edge Accommodation

At River Edge you are surrounded by mountains that turn pink at sunset, vineyards stretching into the horizon, fynbos alive with small wildlife, and the Breede River on your doorstep and yet you are only an hour away from Cape Town.

These beautiful stone-clad river houses offer a luxurious, relaxing and tranquil stay the ideal break for the jaded urbanite seeking an authentic country experience.

The houses boast a trendy open-plan kitchen, a lounge with a cosy fireplace, and beautifully decorated rooms and bathrooms that are the perfect bolt holes for romantic getaways. The interior has been given a contemporary kick with a palette of neutrals peppered with brightly colored soft furnishings. The swanky sundecks with sunken Jacuzzis and open fireplaces make it the best sundowner spot on the Breede River.

The houses are named after the owners' four boys, Joubert, Jan Albert, Willem Hendrik and Benjamin. The fifth house is called Coetzer. You can also book all the houses for your birthday and have a party on Coetzer Houses deck, and even attach a bedou n tent. Remember to ask us for a catering quote.

Bath towels are provided but guests can bring extra towels for use at the river. The beds are covered with cotton percale linen and down duvets as well as electric blankets for our snowy winters. All of the houses are equipped with LCD TVs and Premium Bouquet DStv.

River Edge Accommodation is centrally situated and is only a 20 minutes' drive from Tulbagh, Ceres, Worcester and Rawsonville. Pets can also come on holiday with prior arrangement. Kids of all ages are welcome. Playing on the farm will give them bright eyes and rosy cheeks.

"Amazing, awesome, fantastic and beautiful! A few words I think do this place justice. From the amazing setting on the farm, to the awesome Breede flowing past our deck, to the fantastic setup of the cottage and the beautiful views of the snow capped mountains! This truly is a slice of heaven! Hardly saw another person during our stay (yet all cottages were booked out), so it felt like we were the only people on the farm. There were 5 adults, 1 toddler and 2 little dogs tucked away in the cottage, but we were never cramped for space and the cottage catered for all our needs. To be honest I was hesitant to give a review since I wanted to keep this place a secret all to myself, by eventually realised that a place like this has to be shared by as many as possible! We'll definitely be back!"

"Pleasant venue for some family time out. The rock house was clean, comfortable and spacious. The fireplace was a favourite with the chilly August evenings. The environment is attractive, with short walks and the river for outdoor activities. Take some fynbos resistant clothing if you want to climb the surrounding hills."
