  "This was brilliant. Complete silence, nature at its best and no electricity. The kids had to go without ipads etc but instead got really involved in the amazing scenery and the stars.<br/><br/>The cottage was superb - really comfortable, with awesome views and to be in a place like that in such a beautiful place was an experience I will never forget."

  "We had no problem getting to Tamboershoek from the north as long as you follow Gerda's instructions. And yes, one does feel safer traveling on that beautiful gravel road with a high clearance vehicule. When we arrived in the farm courtyard, we knew straight away we would be happy there. Gerda gave us a very warm welcome and so did the two friendly dogs. Our first impression was confirmed as we put our first steps on the wooden deck of the cottage with a most beautiful view! The cottage has been cleverly thought so as to be comfortable and pratical and is indeed decorated in a simple maner but with much taste. Very comfortable bed and warm blankets and good wood for the evening fire. What pleased me too was the fact that it was spick and span!!! A perfect stay! I would selfishly rather keep the place for myself. Will be back, that's certain. Thank you Gerda!"

Definitely a breakaway place to get back to.I am always impressedby clear process thinking and lots of this went into the preparation of a beautiful chalet, kitted out with everything to make your stay enjoyable.With gas for stove, hot water and fridge and parafin for the lamps you have everything for a relaxed stay.If you think you cannot live without your cell phone, tablet and internet connection, this is the pace that will change your mind. You can chill out on the deck, have your meals there and there is a practical outside braai area. High ground clearance vehicle is a must, but the destination is worth the somewhat rugged road.</p>"

  "What a wonderful, well equipped cottage. There are plenty of fluffy blankets for chilly nights in front of the fire, as well as a very comfortable king size bed. The route from Fraserburg via Oukloof Pass was picturesque; a real treat for those who enjoy traveling off the beaten track."

  "We had an absolutely wonderful night's stay at Tamboershoek and would highly recommend it for anyone needing a breakaway from the city to find some peace and quiet! It had the typical Karoo charm one reads about in magazines of wide open spaces with nothing but beautiful hills, sounds of birds, crickets, bleating of lambs, breathtaking sunset...pure bliss! The cottage interior and finishes are simple but very tastefully decorated. We'll definitely be back!"
