  • "Marvelous!!"

    24 December 2013

"We had a marvelous stay!! Beatie is the sweetest and kindest person and made us feel very welcome and at home! We only stayed for one night, unfortunately, but we will definitely stay for at least three the next time! The guesthouse is a wonderful place, with very comfortable, clean and welcoming rooms with a great view. It has a European ambiance that is very warm and relaxing. The breakfast was also excellent! And do accept Beatie's offer to make a dinner reservation for you at Tides. The food is delicious!! John and Jackie, USA and Venezuela."

  • "Good but not great"

    16 April 2013

"Good location (set back from the main road) and pleasant facilities. The elevated position on the north side of the main road means that the guest house has good views (which is not necessarily the case for accommodation located closer to the sea). With some attention to small details (which I've highlighted in feedback to the management), this has the potential to be an excellent place. However, if you're light sensitive, bear in mind that the curtains are very thin (intended more as window dressings for ornamental and privacy purposes rather than for light exclusion) and you'll find it hard to sleep plast sunrise - which can be early in summer. This is an annoying feature of many guest houses in the Cape, and if you fall into this category, it's worth checking on this before you make a booking."

  • "Generally poor"

    18 February 2013

"Unsafe driveway, all broken up and dangerous. 1 star rooms, old furniture. TV's dont work. Old bath, no overhead shower in our room. Old rattling windows. Overgrown unkept garden. Room not so clean. Not worth R700."

  • "Fantastic bed and breakfast"

  • "Home away from home..We loved it!"

    06 December 2009

"My husband and I spent 3 nights at Bucaco Sud and enjoyed every minute. Beattie was the greatest, a wonderful person, and she really helped us with our daily plans while we were in the area(even making all our dinner reservations for us).Betty's Bay is pretty, safe and easy to get to. Best of all, it's away from all the hustle and bustle of some of the larger cities, which is what we like. We would highly recommend this B & B and certainly hope to return there ourselves.Cindy and RandyCalgary, Alberta, Canada"
