B1001 Ocean View is an upmarket apartment which offers a magnificent view over the bay towards Cape Town, Table Mountain, Robben Island and across the endlessness of the Atlantic Ocean. Whale and dolphin sightings from the apartment are not unusual during season, and spectacular views can be seen from every room.
The apartment consists of an open-plan lounge and dining area with a TV offering DStv capability.. There is a fully fitted kitchen complete with a microwave, washing machine and breakfast counter. There are two bedrooms with built-in cupboards and two bathrooms. Enjoy beautiful sunsets from the comfort of the lounge and the bedroom. Alternatively you can just relax with sundowners or braai on the balcony with the relaxing sound of the ocean. The apartment is fully fitted to meet your every need.
The apartment is privately owned and managed by a husband and wife team who have done everything possible to ensure that your stay in our apartment is an enjoyable one.
"We arrived on the 22nd of Dec. <br/>Disgusted on arrival with the terribly untidy and filthy cupboards. The cupboard in the second bedroom had a dirty soaked mop in a bucket and on openening the cupboard you are startled by the smell and filth left unattended in there. <br/>On the 24th my mother started our Christmas dinner. She put the gammon in a dimple pot to cook in the oven for the lack of any better kitchen cookware. <br/>After 10 minutes the stove exploded. We were shocked as my father was in the kitchen and tried to put out the flame inside the stove. <br/>We informed the owner and she gave us the number of the electrician to call. <br/>In the meantime my mom looked for a pot to cook our gammon in and found that the 3 pots she had, didn't even have lids.<br/>Now we couldn't cook our Christmas dinner. <br/>4 days later the plug in the second bedroom exploded while my charger has been plugged in and ruined it. <br/>I had to buy another charger. <br/>I please want to warn anyone to never book at this place.<br/>They ruined our holliday.<br/><br/><br/><br/>Establishement responded:<br/>Guest arrived on 23rd December and not 22nd December.<br/>We pride ourselves on ensuring that the apartment is clean when our guests arrive and our booking confirmation advises guests to inform us of any issues/concerns during their stay so that we can address them. The guests made no mention of the broom cupboard or lids during their stay.<br/>The complaint about the dirty cupboard was in fact a broom cupboard which contained the mop. We have taken the issue of the dirty mop in the broom cupboard up with the owner of the cleaning company and this should not occur again.<br/>A check of the pots revealed all pots have lids except the large one which we have since rectified.<br/>We received a message from the guest on 24th to say that the oven had exploded whilst they were using the oven. We IMMEDIATELY contacted the electrician for the apartment block who proceeded to check the stove and the stove wiring and found NO issue whatsoever. This was at additional cost to us and a Sunday.<br/>At NO stage were the guests asked to contact the electrician.<br/>On Christmas Day, we received another message from the client advising that their daughter's charger had exploded in the second bedroom. This included a request to replace the charger. The guest proceeded to replacde the charger and requested us to reimburse them.<br/>It was also brought to our attention by the guest's daughter for the 1st time on Wed 27 December (i.e. 3 days after the incident), that on both days when the power tripped, it was the plug in the spare bedroom which had caused the mains to trip and not the stove as originally advised.<br/>We have had no complaints from previous guests or any subsequent guests of any issue with the electricity or plug in the second bedroom<br/>Also important to note that these guests had NO further electrical issues once they had replaced the charger.<br/>This would seem to indicate that the issue was with the charger and not an electrical fault This view was also shared by the electrician.<br/>The guest made several requests for us to reimburse the cost of the charger which we declined due to our non-liability clause in our booking confirmation.<br/>We did however agree to check the electricity once they had vacated. After two days of stress testing, we found absolutely no electrical fault in the apartment and on this basis, we declined the claim. The guest's daughter stated that she would then write a review."
"I stay since 2000 in different Holiday Flats is Blouberg area. And never did I have such a nice stay than in B1001. The Flat were perfectly furnished and had a view to die for. The owners were very nice and all the arrangements were in place. No interference and very quiet area. I could not use the lockable garage. Thought it was my own fault because my bakkie was too big for a standard garage.<br/>Would like to stay in B1001 every holiday.<br/>"
"I enjoyed staying at B1001 Ocean View. Waking up to ocean view, as the name of place it was indeed an ocean view. The place was what I saw on website as some places deceive tourist with ocean view but you find its not. I was not rushed to check out. It was worth every cent I paid."
