Medley House Guest Lodge

Medley House was built in 1906 as the residence of the Brakpan Gold Mines' General Manager, bordering the Royal Oak Golf Course.

We offer 11 beautifully appointed guest rooms; equipped with en-suite bathrooms, TVs and air-conditioning. The decor is different in all rooms, surrounded by a peaceful country atmosphere, among luscious gardens.

The success and reputation of the guest house is built on old-fashioned service, personal attention and a genuine desire to please our guests.

This charming venue specializes in wedding receptions, but caters for all events, of which is individually co-ordinated.

"<strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">A most disappointing stay at Medley House!</span></strong><div><br /></div><div>Upon arrival at reception, my husband needed to use the ablution facilities after the long drive, there was no water in the mens bathroom to wash up! Little did we know that this would only be the start! The air conditioner could not be used to keep the room warm due to the amount of racket it makes, the TV remote in the room did not work, the hand basins cold water tap in the bathroom could not be opened at all, (the tap was loose on the basin, and was also over tightened to the point that it could not be opened, obviously they didn't want guests using it) there was also puddle due to a leak from the tap under the basin. Big cracks in the wall as well as signs of moisture seeping through. Black mould growing on walls above the bath, a handle missing from the clothes cupboard door. For some reason the bedding smelled dusty, I cant explain it, but it is, what it is. And lastly, a dirty toilet paper encrusted toilet brush, next to the toilet.</div><div><br /></div><div>We did ask to be moved to a different room, but the establishment was fully booked and we were informed that they couldn't help us, (so were all the other places we called at this time) so we had to suck it up.</div><div><br /></div><div>How Medley House has a 4 star grading is beyond me. I can safely recommend to anyone reading this, do yourself a favour and stay away!!!</div>"
