    02 August 2018

"The rooms are warm with a heater and you enjoy watching DSTV and the bed is comfortable. However, the only hustle is that the toilet is too close too the kitchen and there's no door in between, which make it unhygienic."

"The Ambiance of the resort. More light at the swimming pool. The cleaner of the braai's should clean the braai's with degreaser so that it's clean when you want to braai. Thank you Roelien for your welcome on arrival."

"The place is wonderful. If only they could elaborate on the level of sound Nd time exactly to switch it off or lower it. When taking bookings pls review the reason for stay. We were disappointed on the issue of church group complaining mainly because they act holier than dou. As for other things, I cannot complaining. I give it 9/10. Its cheap so cannot expect 5 star. For those who love nature, fresh air Nd wild life. This is a place to be. Safe, peaceful Nd beautiful. Lerato"

"When booking a place at that price, we did expect much & went with an open mind.<br/>Good: Staff was friendly, even though we arrived late, they helped us out with the keys & rooms with all possible info.Key deposit was returned in time. Location was very secluded & isolated, <br/>Bad : Rooms. Too small for our group. i have stayed at bigger room as couple compared to the room offered to 5 people. Toilet door was broken & had lift it & put back to shut the toilet.. Couples room was also small but much better."

  • "Poor"

    07 December 2015

"Awful. We did'nt even spent the night like we were suppose to. The pictures on the internet were deserving. The grass were full of thorns. Not a best place to take your children. I wil never recommend Dassies Paleis."

"<span style="text-decoration: underline;">The Good:</span><br />Magda was a pleasure, when she welcomed us and showed us the alarm functionality, where everything was and where she stayed, if we required any further assistance.<br />We stayed in MARULA, a quaint little cottage, clean neat and tidy.<br /><br /><span style="text-decoration: underline;">The Bad:</span><br />There was NO braai facility at Marula - VERY dissapointing.<br /><br />The TV and portable antenna - could just as well not have been there, would have caused much less frustration than to actually try and get one station viewable.<br /><br />According to www.dassiepaleis.co.za "<span style="color: #000000;"><strong>Dassie Paleis is a true bushveld resort</strong>, with lots of birds and beautiful indigenous flora set amongst granite hills.</span>" - WHAT A PITY there are no trails to explore sothat one can actually see the birds!!<br /><br />Sunday morning when we wanted to check-out - no one was available, even after 8am. Only at about 8h45 someone came storming down the driveway to assist - Very unprofessional.<br /><br /><span style="text-decoration: underline;">The Ugly:</span><br />Behind Marula is "literally" a scrapheap of offccut iron and various metals. This is not pleasing to the eye and causes a bad impression.<br />"

  • "DISASTER"

    15 December 2014

"I was extremely dissappointed, the boom huis we booked was a disaster. It a dorm house with bunk beds, its dirty and smelly. The tv room/dining room has office chairs and a 54cm old tv. The internet shows us false information. I was disappointed i will never recommend to anyone"

  • "Weekend stay"

  • "SNQA - Kyle"

    30 September 2013

"Firstly the owner didn't know that we where coming. We had booked for double bed and only to find out it was two single beds, but I must say that the owner went all his way to sort us out. Then he moved us the double bed but when we got it was a disaster, bathroom door didn't close spider webs all over even cockroaches were big, the place is so dry."

  • "key deposit not paid back"

    30 September 2013

"My key deposit was never paid back to me.There was no person at the gate at the time of my departure!!!!"

  • "one night stay"

    17 December 2012

"It is affordable, but rates paid differed from what was advertised on internet, it was advertised as about R500 for 4 persons per night but we had to pay R975 in the end. The bathroom sink had hair from the previous people in it.The walls between the units are too thin we could hear every word the people next to us spoke, every move they made was heard. The owners are very nice amd friendly and all in all it is a good concept, just need a little rounding-off."

  • "Decent stay"

    15 October 2012

"The stay at Dassie Paleis was nice. Maybe it was just the fact that the weather didn't play along that didn't make it an excellent stay. I would recommend the place to other people."

  • "Disappointed"

    27 September 2012

"The establishment is not as good as it is described and photo's indicate. Not to be recommended."

  • "Query"

    27 August 2012

"On arrival a R200.00 deposit was requested which we were not told about. A one bedroom backpacker like room was offered for the price of a 3 Star chalet. The door got stuck, we could not open the kitchen window, and a very washed-out cafe curtain was hanging in the bedroom. The workers lived between the rooms and made a lot of noice. Deposit was not given back. Dassie park does not recieve any recommendation of us."
