• "Missing Africa 2020"

    29 August 2020

"Were sure this site is great, but due to Covid we had to stay in the UK - looking forward to a trip in 2021! We decided to let them keep the small camping fee - were sure the missing tourists are hurting the economy"

  • "Getting out as soon as we could"

    26 August 2018

"The location is stunning, but we arrived at 1730 the person ( query the owner) who accepted the balance of our money pointed to a gate we should go through. We followed a track to a site. The toilet had no water, the donkey wasn't working. There was a 20litre container of water in the boma/site, tap was dry. We had travelled from East London and were bitterly disappointed, it certainly wasn't what one would expect for that price. We decided to leave the following morning in disgust and write off the monies paid for a second day. This trip with my 80year-old mother and 84 year-old father, to see the west coast has started with a bad experience. My parents have camped in the Zambezi valley and Mozambique and say this for the money paid is the worst they have seen."

  • "Privacy"

    11 July 2018

"We arrived at 7pm, were greeted at the gate and told that sorry, the "donkey" providing hot water was out of order but that they have put a container with water in the camp area. It is winter, month of July! They offered that we may use their shower in their house the next morning. Not acceptable. Also the bush toilet was out of order. Please do not advertise what you can not provide. Will definitely not go there again. Better to sleep beside the road."

  • "The remoteness"

    28 September 2017

"I think this is a brilliant place. I wish I could have stayed my 2 nights but I was running behind. I will most definitely be back with my 2 and a half year old son when he turns 4. Worth the trip"

  • "Perfect spot to do basic camping in quiet karoo surroundings."

    27 August 2016

    "PRO'S
1. Perfect spot to do basic camping in quiet karoo surroundings.
2. No cellphone coverage!
CON's
1. Water drips on you when sitting on the loo.
2. The campsite was swept and cleaned, but there were floaters in the loo.
3. Complicated 'donkey' and tap arrangement for anyone to operate who is not technically (plumbing) minded. Some instruction on-site would be good.
4. SMS'd ahead to inquire about a braai grid and was told there was one on site. There wasn't, and had to ride back to farmhouse to fetch one.
5. Although we used an entire bundle of wood to heat the donkey, the water was barely lukewarm.
6. No potable water. A warning about this would be good. We travel on a motorcycle and cannot carry much with us."
