Swartheuwel offers tranquil self-catering accommodation with breathtaking views of the Verlorenvlei, just 10 km outside of Elands Bay. It is far enough to escape the city noise but still close enough for a weekend breakaway from Cape Town.
Accommodation is offered in five self-catering units, each with an open-plan layout. Each unit contains a queen-size bed, a sleeper couch, an en-suite bathroom, and a kitchen area that is well equipped with a bar fridge, a small stove, kettle, and enough cutlery, crockery, pots and pans for three guests. All of the rooms face the Verlorenvlei. The Verlorenvlei is popular for swimming and fishing.
In addition, Swartheuwel offers a function venue that can seat up to 120 guests, ideal for a wedding or any special functions. The main building has enough tables, chairs and crockery for up to 120 people.

25 April 2016"Had such a great time here. The room was perfect, complete with a little kitchen and a massive shower. The views of the vlei and the mountains is breathtaking, and we even got to hear little dassies and steenbok scurrying around in the evenings, as well as the numerous bird calls. Would recommend that guests bring citronella candles if you plan to sit outside in the evenings (which you're going to want to do, especially with that sunset!). Thanks for such a great weekend!"

15 January 2015"Awesome! Very nice and the people are very friendly and helpfull. Not far from Elandsbaai but far enough to feel like you are in the middle of nowhere which we enjoyed very much. The view is awesome in the mornings."
