Holiday Home Franskraal

Franskraal is situated 4 km from Gansbaai, at the edge of the Danger Point Peninsula. It is an unpretentious town that, at its western extreme, hugs the neighbouring coastal town of Kleinbaai.

Holiday Home is a double-story house that is situated on the seafront with great Indian Ocean views. The house has four bedrooms; one of the bedrooms is situated upstairs with a full en-suite bathroom and great sea views. The other three bedrooms are downstairs and all share a bathroom; two of these bedrooms have sea views.

The house has an open-plan, fully equipped kitchen and lounge. Guests have a choice of three braai areas; one of the braais are inside the lounge and the other two are situated on the balcony or around the back of the house. In the bedrooms we have all duvet inners and pillows; all you need to bring for the rooms are the duvet and pillow covers. DStv is available if guests bring their own smart card. Cleaning services can be arranged at an additional cost.

Franskraal has a long, sandy beach crossing the outlet of the Uilkraals estuary, a known birding hotspot.

"The only good thing about the house is the stunning location. It has great views and is pet friendly. However the owner leaves ALL her personal items behind including used soap ,shampoo, shaver and toothbrushes! This makes for a feeling of constantly intruding in somebody else's space. Furthermore if you should dare to accidentally leave something behind she gives it away to strangers and is extremely rude, unprofessional and inappropriate. There are better properties in the area with equally good views."

"Our week was very restful. The house is in a quiet and secluded spot and the pebble beach in front is ideal for anyone interested in marine life. The house is spacious and very well supplied, and the price per day is fair. Beds were comfortable and clean, but we felt that the rest of the house could have been a little cleaner. After speaking with the owners, who were most receptive to our feedback, they undertook to change caretakers so that the house would be cleaner in future. All in all, a lovely spot."
