At 29 Columba

At 29 Columba B&B , being graded as a 3 star by TGSA, is a tranquil rest place situated in Great Brak River, just a five-minute walk to the beach, overlooking the spectacular Outeniqua mountains and the river. We offer two double and two twin comfortably furnished bedrooms, as well as a double room downstairs, sleeping two people each.

Features include barbecue facilities on the deck outside for guests to entertain and a loft with a fully equipped kitchen, a large living/dining area with DSTV and sitting room to watch DVD's. Laundry and cleaning services are available and safe parking is provided. Tours and transport are also available on request.

The little village, just a few kilometres from both Mossel Bay and George, is without doubt serene and beautiful. Great Brak offers unspoilt beaches, a lagoon that is safe to swim in, and generous sea views. The stillness experienced along the banks of the Great Brak River, which also offers a number of picnic spots, has led to this little town being much sought after by those wanting to escape it all.

Interesting things to see and do include the Great Brak River Museum, the Watson Shoe Factory and an example of the largest Pepper tree in South Africa. There is a circular route, outlining history and culture, through the village and Southern Right and other whales visit the shore from May through November.

    "We stayed at 29 Columba for only one night. Although the host and the facilities were excellent, we found the bedroom and the bathroom very inconvenient as theywere awfully small. The double bed almost fill the whole bedroom and the shower door could not open properly because of lack of bathroom space. The bathroom is almost as small as a postage stamp! Ek het hulle probeer akkommodeer, omdat alle ander plekke vol was. Hulle het egter volle toegang tot die gebruik van my huis onder gehad, maar hulle het nie daarvan gebruik gemaak nie, omdat hulle slegs wou slaap en vroeg weer gery het.</div><div style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px; outline: 0px; font-size: 13px; vertical-align: baseline; border: 0px; line-height: 16.9px; word-break: normal; word-wrap: break-word; color: #333333; background-color: #fefef0;">Hulle het 'n kamer met 'n klein sitkamertjie met kitchenette tot hulle beskikking gehad. Die kamer is wel klein, maar ek het spesiaal vir hulle daar 'n dubbelbed in gesit vir die (2) aand wat hulle hier geslaap het. Normaalweg is daar slegs 'n enkelbed in.</div></div>"

    "I had an absolute blast at 29 Columba. My kids enjoyed the short walk to the beach and the beautiful scenery from the balcony. The house is spacious, modern and beautifully furnished. George and Mosselbay are within reach and Groot Brak offers a tranquil, quiet and relaxing atmosphere that makes it a perfect getaway. What an awesome stay. I will definitely return."
