"Unfortunately, we could not make use of our full stay as the power went out and we were left without any means to make coffee, have to breakfast and enjoy the stoep a bit longer. Also, we did not have any connection to Wi fi and this was a bit scary as we were very far from anyone else. Our warm blankets also did not help with the power failure from 11.30. I would like to suggest that the overnight room gets a microwave as you do not have a kitchen so it would be handy if one could heat something to eat. We had good crockery and cutlery but having a warm meal could have been nice also.

Establishments response:

Dear Sonja

We are so glad that you arrived early noon already and could enjoy the braai, coffee station, Wifi and the electric blankets until late evening at 23h30 when the areas power unexpectedly went out. Luckily the homestead is only 450m from the accommodation in case of a real emergency, assistance is close by. Thank you very much for the suggestion- it is unfortunate that your one night stay was during strange conditions out of our control (level 4 lockdown where restaurants were closed for sit down and extreme windy weather conditions where trees fell on power lines somewhere else, which caused the power failure without warning at 23h30 late night). Guest booking our overnight room have advance knowledge that there is only a coffee station and no kitchen+ microwave as in the online description, glad you also phoned before your stay to confirm this. Guests plan to have a lovely meal in town/ get takeaways (12 mins from the farm), have a picnic platter and wine, or a lekker braai. We hope you return for a longer stay to enjoy the full experience and book one of our fully equipped cottages next time.
Kind regards
Management

"

"Our stay at Hakuna Matata was superbly relaxing! The views from our incredibly-equipped cottage were just amazing, specially for an-animal lover like myself. There was free wifi for those who still prefer to keep in touch with the outside world, but otherwise the cottage had all one would need for a relaxing weekend of peace and calm. We were even able to try our luck at fishing in the main dam, much to my boyfriend's delight! But the highlight for me had to be waking up to the sound of a male lion roaring :)"

"The accommodation was very neat tidy and clean on arrival. The host was friendly and eager to assist. On arrival we received home baked bread which I thought was such a nice touch from the host as this really made us feel welcome.

The view from the chalet was very calm and relaxing. The game on the farm was an added bonus and the roar of the lions daily made us feel we were right there in the bush. What a pleasant experience we had."
