Three Willows Guest House

Three Willows Guest House is situated in Greyton, a small town in the Overberg area in the Western Cape that lies at the foot of the Riviersonderend Mountain range. Greyton was established in 1854 by Herbert Vigne and takes its name from the Governor of the Cape at the time, Sir George Grey. The historic Cape Vernacular architecture, tranquil setting, and proximity to Cape Town make this a very popular destination for weekend visitors.

Accommodation comprises three comfortable and affordable self-catering units, surrounded by a beautiful garden and sparkling swimming pool with barbecue facilities. Ocean Breeze 1 and 2 are our two upstairs loft-style units with an inter-leading door, which are ideal for families or groups of friends, and Country Garden is our downstairs unit. Each unit contains an equipped kitchenette with a bar fridge, microwave oven, electric frying pan, two-plate stove, crockery and cutlery, and also features heaters, fans and tea and coffee-making facilities.

The spectacular surrounding countryside offers some of the best fynbos in the Western Cape, and activities in the area include hiking, swimming, horse riding, mountain biking, 4x4 trails, tennis, croquet, bowls, golf, and fishing.

  • "Pretty"

    30 August 2018

"This establishment was clean, comfortable and quiet with beautiful views of the mountains. I stayed for 2 nights with 2 young children (there are stairs, but they have a gate at the top) and we were very comfortable. The room is quite cold, not getting a lot of sunshine but we were prepared with hot bean bags and we did use the heater and paid the extra cost."

"it could get five stars, but it needs maintenace, maintenace, maintenace....kitchen utensils very basic. Wifi - very weak signal. Beautiful view, calm, near the Shops and Restaurants, kind hosts"

"We had a comfortable stay surrounded by the chirping of birds. Melody and her right hand, Salome, are warm and friendly hosts. They really went out of their way to make our stay as nice as possible."

  • "I guess it was fine"

    08 February 2016

"There was nothing particularly wrong, I was just expecting a bit more from this accommodation based on other places I've stayed at in the same price bracket. It kind of felt like I was staying in someone's spare room. The towels had a bit of pet hair on them, the TV is straight out of the 80's, it only had 2 SABC channels, the kitchen wasn't exactly well equipped, the shower head felt like it was on mist mode even thought it only had one mode.<div><br /></div><div>If the owner spent a few bucks and got a flat screen tv, new kitchen equipment and some nice hotel towels that didn't feel like they'd been washed 1000 times, this can be a very nice place.</div><div><br /></div><div>The room is nice and big, there is space for 3 or even 4 people in the room, the swimming pool was very nice, it's very quiet but close enough to town and the owner or operator was very friendly.</div><div><br /></div><div>So not all bad, but some improvements necessary.</div>"

    03 June 2013

"We received excellent service from the staff they were more than happy to alter our check-in time and check-out times to accommodate our festival schedule. During our stay the staff were very friendly and helpful. They even switched a heater on in our room so that it was warm when we returned from the Gala Concert in Genadendal. Thank you all for a great stay."

"We enjoyed our stay, we were really comfortable. We were surprised to find the extra single bed, so there would be space for our son next time!"

"We had a very nice stay at Thee Willows. Everyone was very friendly and the Unit we stayed in was more than adequate for our needs. It was spacious and very clean. I left my hairdryer at home and Jackie went out of her way to find one for me. We had a very enjoyable stay and I will definitely go back again."
