  "The house is incredibly comfortable and has the most amazing view over the fynbos down to the sea. A well-equipped kitchen and dining area made cooking very pleasant, and the little plunge pool was very refreshing at the end of a long hot day. We will definitely be back!"

  "Our second visit this year! The house and location are obviously still gorgeous and we expect to return in the future. As visitors travelling from overseas, we would like self-catering establishments to provide a little more in the way of basics, such as salt, pepper and oil and maybe dish-washing liquid as with just the two of us we didn't want to waste water by using the machine."

  "As always we loved everything about our stay. Almost no complaints whatsoever, from the welcoming champers and chocolates to the location and the amenities. Lovely stay!Only 2 points that we'd like to note - firstly the top tray of the freezer is missing, and there are no ice trays in the house in order to make ice. Secondly, with water restrictions in the Western Cape, it would be good to mention whether or not Sanderlings is on borehole or whether we should be careful with water usage."

  "The house is even more beautiful than the pictures on the website, very often the reverse applies!We thoroughly enjoyed our 16 nights relaxation, just the two of us for most of the stay, and had a great time birding and braaing and very little else. Just what we wanted. The village or estate is well maintained and so peaceful. We are definitely considering a return visit before too long."

  "We had a wonderfully relaxing stay at Sanderling! We had a special treat when 2 whales decided to put on a show one morning, breaching and frolicking in the ocean! Great views! The house is cozy and suits 4 people perfectly. The layout has changed a bit, so the photos on Safarinow is not updated, but is still gives a good impression of what the house really looks like. We received great service from our hostess Wendy and really enjoyed our stay."

  "We really enjoyed our stay. The house is well equipped, with a beautiful view over the ocean and surrounding fynbos. It's relatively close to Cape Town, but still secluded enough to ensure a peaceful stay. There is literally not a bad thing I can say about the place! I will recommend it to anyone, especially to couples."

Because the house is located in a nature reserve, the bird life is amazing. We relaxed in the pool every evening while sipping cocktails and watching the sunset. We had such a restful stay and will definitely recommend and come back."

Very clean and comfortable, with lots of attention to detail, I highly recommend a stay here. Chilling on the deck with a magnificent view of the sea was our favorite pastime and we will definitely be back."

  "We were so impressed with the property that we will definitely be returning in future. We usually stay in Cape Town but wanted to try the West Coast which and decided on Sanderling at Grotto Bay. The house is very well stocked and located close to two Wine Estates of which we only visited the one, Darling Cellars. It is also en route to Langebaan, where we visited an open air restaurant on the beach called Strandloper.This house is a perfect base if you want to chill and take in the fabulous view. It is equipped with a Weber BBQ which we used most evenings. Bedrooms are beautifully decorated as per the website. I can highly recommend this property to anyone. We are a group of friends 40-42, all working in the airline industry and have stayed in many 5 star properties. This property really deserves 5 stars!Thank you for a great holiday."

  "My wife and I went to Sanderling just for a weekend. It was one of the best places we've stayed at. It was fully equipped and had everything we needed/forgot at home-including spice for our braaivleis! We've decided to prolong our stay and only left Sunday evening after sunset. This is a place where you turn off your car once you arrive and only turn it on once you leave. Thank you, Wendy, for a quick breakaway at your stunning house. You will see us again and again and again."

  "We have just returned from a lovely stay at Sanderling, Grotto Bay. The house is very stylish and well equipped and in a secure location with beautiful ocean views. It is approx 2 min walk to a pebble beach and 10 min walk to a sandy beach. The upstairs bedroom does get quite hot and with only 1 bathroom it means it would be very difficult for 2 families to share."
