  "The peace and quite and the horses roaming around looking for the odd carrot really made for a wonderful relaxing holiday. The hosts were very welcoming with a basket of farm eggs, herbs and homemade marmalade all very special. The cottage is very comfortable and homely.The only thing I would try and rectify is the squeaky beds."

The hosts, Liz and Hannes were amazing and very attentive - and the special little things they shower their guests with makes this place unforgettable. Its ideal for a romantic getaway for two - or for a family with kids. The horses and other pets on the farm make the experience of staying there, very special!!"

  "We stayed at 'Merlin's Cattage' in Angels Rest Farm during 3 days wih my four kids.We're looking for the place can have fully rest farm to escape from busy city life with comfort.As we arrived at the farm, we couldn't believe the views with beautiful hugh field. The owner Liz was waitig for my family. She is so kind and friendly. explained the facilities and what to enjoy.And the most impressive one is the 'Welcome Basket'.It is filled with farm fresh free range eggs, chillies & fresh herbs which Liz&her partner 'Hannes' plant. It made us feel happy smiles. We enjoyed them!!My children are still missing 'Cuba', 'Zinzi' & friends the friendly horses. They always came to the cottage to see the children. They played together all the time.What I can say happilly is the comforters. The pillows and comforters are perfect. Liz&Hannes prepared the best quality beddings for their guests.We were there in winter time but looking forward to visit there in Spring and Summer holiday. Oh and Hannes' famous omelet.When people visit there they will know that why the cottage is called as 'Merlin's Cottage' with smile.Thank you for your friendly service and kindness.We miss you guys.   "We had a lovely 3 days at Angels rest farm. We had our 4 year old daughter with us and she absolutely loved the horses, farm cats and dogs. We fed the horses every evening with carrots and she found it highly entertaining that they put their heads in the cottage door! The cottage is just off the N2 but feels a long way from anywhere built up which was a welcome break for us from our busy lives. Liz and Hannes were pefect hosts - there if you needed them at any time. The cottage is perfect for a family of 4 or 5 with excellent cooking and lounge facilities. If you do visit make sure you go up the hill and find the Lily pad pond - it is a lovely spot on a sunny day! We would love to return and highly recommend!"

  "We spent 3 amazing nights at Merlin's Cottage and loved every moment of it. The cottage is beautifully and functionally decorated and has everything one needs. We positively loved the ever present horses and I shall never forget the picture of Liz/Hannes walking their 4 dogs and the 3 cats following on their hills. We enjoyed Cashmere's visits as well as the "fireplace" - although it was unexpectedly needed in December!!! Liz and Hannes were amazing hosts. Thank you for EVERYTHING! We hope to be back soon!   "Well equipped and clean, interesting to have the horses around, close enough to the N2 to take you to Plett or Knysna within 15 mins. Authentic small holding stay. Cottage heats up in sunny weather, but cools down fast enough with all doors and windows open. Loved it to spend time here!"

  "What a fantastic weekend away at Angels Rest! Liz warmly welcomed us as we arrived and were even treated with a basket of goodies which was really unexpected and so thoughtful. Merlin's cottage is just the place if you are looking to rest and recuperate... surrounded by the beautiful surroundings and horses that freely roam the farm added that something special! With two small children this cottage was ideal! Fitted with all the home comforts. Liz has gone out of her way to make your stay enjoyable and comfortable as possible. We've been to many similar accommodation types but there is definitely something uniquely different about Angels Rest - you will not be sorry! Thanks again Liz, see you next year again!"

  "Anyone looking for a little piece of heaven for a getaway should definitely try Angel's Rest farm, 20 mins from Knysna, 10 mins from Plett. We were greeted by Liz with a basket of fresh farm eggs and wild porcini mushrooms, with 11 free-roaming, apple-demanding horses in tow. With forests and dams to explore and lots of space for the kids to run around, the weekend felt like a whole week away!"

  "We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at Angels Rest Farm - what a happy, peaceful place. Our toddler loved the free-roaming horses! The cottage is also thoughtfully designed and very comfortable. I was very impressed by the fact that the entire farm is off the grid - rain water and solar only, but everything works as normal! We slept so well and rested out that the weekend felt like a short holiday instead. Thanks Liz and Hannes for being such kind hosts."

  "Wow, what a fantastic, restful place! Clean, spacious, comfortable and private accommodation with everything you could think of. Really loved waking up to nature with the sun streaming through the windows and drinking coffee whilst watching the horses grazing. We spent our mornings exploring and mountain biking and always looked forward to returning to comfy Merlin's Cottage in the afternoon where we could spend time interacting with the friendly horses and playing Monopoly in the evening. Hannes and Liz made us feel at home, welcoming us with fresh farm eggs and herbs. Perfect for tired souls looking for some place to unclutter one's mind."

  "Were a family of four, with two children aged 8 and 10 and we spent 5 days at Angels Rest farm during July. It really was a wonderful experience despite the fact that it was winter time.The cottage is really well equipped and spacious and beautifully located on the farm. The fireplace made for cosy family evenings playing some of the games provided in front of the fire.The farm itself contains a section of forest which is big enough for the kids to have a real adventure without you having to worry about them getting lost and of course the horses and other animals make it a real farm experience. It was love at first sight between the horses and the kids and the daily handing out of carrots and apples was a definite highlight. (Hannes made sure that they knew how to be safe around the horses on day one)We also found the farm to be well located, and central to a lot of the tourist activities in the area. We did the elephant park, the big cats, the tree top adventures and we hiked at Robberg. All and all a great time.Liz and Hannes can really be commended for the way that they made us feel welcome, spoiled us with jam, eggs and chocolate cake, and patiently dealt with our kids who had lots of questions about the farm.Its a wonderful place and we will most certainly be back."

  "We had a most glorius stay at Angels Rest. What a welcome, what hospitality. We had the freedom to come and go anywhere on the farm and got a tour of the vegetable/herb garden. Anita even got a chicken tour. Agnes overcame her fear of horses and discovered they had the gentlest souls and Bert experienced his first South African Braai. What a fabulous time. Friends joined us for an evening meal and our hostess generously supplied herbs from the garden. We loved the decor and felt rested after two days. I most definately will return."
