"We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay here! We stayed in Mkhulu's lodge which is a beautiful house set a bit away from the lodge. We had a lovely time as a family and couldnt have wanted for anything more. The lodge organised a wonderful picnic basket for us the one day so that we could stay in the game reserve and the meals we had at the lodge were superb. All of the staff were wonderful - Lesley in particular was amazing at his job and extremely pleasant and helpful."

"<p>We enjoyed our stay at the Lodge, food was excellent and the staff was extremely helpful. We couldn't find the river, but there's currently a drought. The lodge is a good place to stay if your looking to explore Hluhluwe nature reserve or false bay. <br /></p><p>Just be aware they allow children of all ages, which is a pain when a bunch of children runs around basing thingsin the lodgeand babies arecrying while your trying to enjoy nature.<br /></p><p></p>"

"We stayed in the luxury Villa and it was amazing. The view is spectacular and the villa well equipped with it's own swimming pool. The rooms are spacious and it is totally secluded and private so a great place to unwind. The bush walk on site is also fabulous and there are a number of attractions around within reasonable driving distance."

  • "Hubby's 30th bday weekend away"

    02 December 2013

"Absolutely superb! We stayed at Hluhluwe River Lodge just for the weekend for my Hubby's 30th birthday. What a perfect choice! We loved our Honeymoon Luxury chalet, it was definitely worth the splurge! The food and friendliness of the staff for us, were the key necessities to making our weekend relaxed and enjoyable. The highlight was the picnic which Elton and Melissa organized for us. We have been to other resorts previously who have never really made any suggestions for a birthday. They however, went the extra mile and hubby was blown away with a cute little table under a tree with a view of False Bay to enjoy a spectacular lunch. We enjoyed the bike ride at False Bay, stunning views and birdlife. Thanks again to everyone at Hluhluwe River Lodge for making our weekend not just a special one, but a absolutely memorable one!"
