Bona Ntaba Self Catering Tree Houses is a unique facility featuring tree house chalets. Two tree houses have their own kitchen and boma and two share the Large Kitchen and Boma at our central shared lodge building. We are located in the bush on a wildlife conservancy which is home to giraffe, zebras, eland, waterbuck, buffalo, ostrich and many other free-roaming animals. Enjoy the tranquil quiet of our nights and the relaxing pace of the day or many of the nearby attractions and activities.
Each of our 4 thatch roof tree houses is elevated to afford the best view of the bush and the mountains. There is a private covered balcony with views of the mountains, while the inside offers a king-size bed (twin on request). The tree houses are en-suite with baths, sinks and toilets inside and outside showers with breathtaking views of the bush. The Family Tree House has a loft which is large enough to sleep two children - must be aged 8 and up to safely climb the ladder. Linen and mosquito nets are supplied and windows have screening and coverings. Each tree house has plenty of electrical points and a personal safe. The views from your private viewing deck are enchanting and the symphony of the bush will sing you to sleep.
When preparing meals, each of the kitchens are fully equipped containing a refrigerator, an oven, a microwave, burners , sinks, plus all of the linen and kitchen implements and dishes you will need.
The sunset deck is the perfect spot for sundowners before a braai and for watching the sunset from in the splash pool. The lounge also has a great view and is a nice place to relax or dine.

Bona Ntaba is close to all of the action of the private reserves, Blyde Canyon, Big 5 reserves and the Kruger National Park. A conservation fee is required to enter our reserve.
"We came here not knowing what to expect and were completely overwhelmed. The reserve has numerous different types of accommodation but everything is so far from each other that it feels completely isolated. The tree houses themselves are also well spaced apart so you cannot hear or see the other ones. The tree house itself is raised quite high, level with the tree tops so you have magnificent views. The house is immaculately put together with the most incredible bed, bath and outdoor shower. It was so quiet and peaceful with different animals walking around, we never wanted to leave. We will most certainly be back soon! Thank you for the wonderful experience. <br/>"
"<p>Great weekend away!</p><p>It's just you, the animals and the bush! The view of the mountain is amazing and totally worth waking up early to watch the sunrise.... </p><p></p>"
"Loved the tree house and quiteness. perfect place to getaway from all busy schedules of once hectic days. loved the fact that they had a top kids bed. very cool for kids to sleep there and will bring my kids next time."
"The owner and his family are very kind and helpful. They helped us a lot when we had some organisational problems with our journey through southern Africa. The place is like a dream, with the opportunity to walk around with our children and meet many animals like zebras, gnus, impalas, giraffes. There are also things to do around the place, like going to Moholoholo Rehabilitation Center. West organised this for us and also helped us to orientate in the region."
"We stayed at Bona Ntaba for five nights which was perfect. We had enough time to enjoy the peacefulness of the reserve by just sitting on the balcony or next to the pool. There was also sufficient time to enjoy the safaris and make a side trip. The lodge is perfect for self catering. We cooked ourselves, and all utensils were there. The large cooler/freezer was a big plus. All staff were very friendly. Glory, the cleaning lady, was very pleasant. The owner, Greg, was very friendly as well and he gave us useful tips about the area. The day of our departure to Swaziland he even gave us a map he drew with directions on how to get there safely. Walking safari with Wes in Guernsey is highly recommended. He knows the bush through and through and it was very special to see zebra and giraffe while walking. Even when driving in the reserve to the exit gate, we saw group of impala, zebra and giraffe, right in front of our car. The jeep safaris in Thornybush were excellent, especially the sunset safari was fantastic. We saw lion and cheetah up close. The advantage of these safaris is that groups are kept small (max 10 pax) which creates an intimate experience."
"Great setting and unique accommodation - views are special.. Access to the resort from the main roads is poor and would detract from us returning."
"We had a great time at the lodge. The place is cosy, beautiful and quiet. We had good interaction with the owner and would definitely go again."
"A friend and I spent two nights at Bona Ntaba. It was a delightful visit. The tree house was very comfortable (even through the very windy nights) and the communal kitchen was well stocked. Everything was neat and clean and the host and reservations were very friendly and helpful."
"We (two adults and five- and eight-year-old boys, made a two-week tour around South Africa. The whole trip was incredible, but Bona Ntaba was still the best and the most memorable part of it. Houses were incredible beautiful and unique and decorated in such good taste. Last but not least, the manager, Brian, and his dog, Hot Dog, will be remembered with warmth."
"What a wonderful stay! We had the most relaxing visit at this beautiful venue. Nothing but nature, no interruptions, no rush. It was absolute bliss and I will recommend this to everyone!"
"Was great, very relaxing and quiet in the bush. Forced relaxation time, wonderful!"
