Situated in the heart of the Karoo, next to the Buffalo River, between Laingsburg and Ladismith, and on-route to Seweweekspoort, lies the peaceful, unique and fully contained self catering lodge Wagendrift.
We do not serve ANY MEALS OR ANYTHING TO DRINK. Only accommodation. Guest needs to bring their own food, coffee, tea, sugar, milk, drinking water ext.
Although one is surrounded by the sights and sounds of nature and its abounds, the choices still remains whether you would like to pass time by leisurely taking a bush walk and doing some bird watching, or getting the adrenalin rush of doing something more physical such as swimming, mountain biking, motorcycle trails or exploring the 4x4 routes. Wagendrift Lodge is also ideally suited for team building exercises.

24 September 2019"The barbecue set-up on the verandah is very special.We also loved the brand new cottage with everything on hand and and everything spotlessly clean.I highly recommend this establishment and I will definitely be back.Sayidah, who welcomed us and saw to all our needs, is a great asset to the lodge.The gentleman from Israel who gave a very negative review should rather stay in the city - no cell-phone signal was expected, and was a welcome respite from (purported) civilisation!"

"A disappointment for overnight stay"
19 October 2016"Unsuitable for single overnight stay. If you are not familiar with this kind of lodging, you arrive there and find nothing-no coffee or tea, no WiFi, no means of communication, no staffed office, you are totally on your own. If a problem develops it could be a disaster. Unable to call anyone. True we understood that this is self-catering, and brought our own food, but the description of tea and coffee facilities is ambiguous and it should be made clear that nothing is supplied as such. Kettle was dirty, towels old, TV on one channel only, without any instructions. Much overpriced for what you get."

20 December 2011"We only slept here for one night going down to Cape Town. We booked in on the Friday, early in December, and due to some cancellations we had the lodge to ourselves. It is the most beautiful place! A piece of paradise in the Karoo. The swimming pool cooled us down after a long trip and we had a lovely braai outside where we looked at the stars before going to bed. It was well worth travelling a few kilometres inland to rest here. I would recommend the place to all my friends, and will definitely use it again! Thank you!"

18 July 2011"We only stayed one night but it was exceptionally peaceful and relaxing. The idea was to use the communal braai but we managed to arrange our own braai drum at our chalet. Nothing was too much trouble for them to organize."

20 June 2011"I feel that the internet photos is false advertising and the accommodation is sub-standard. Facilities is almost non-existent and I if they keep their standards as they are currently I will not be willing to pay more than R50 per person. I would rather go camping."
