• "Bit over priced"

"The flat is modern and very clean , but it is overpriced for what you get. The kitchen is very small and not very practical unless you only want to make a sandwich and a cup of coffee.

For R1100 (what I paid) you would expect more. After our stay I also felt a bit ripped off about the fact that you have to pay an additional R200 for cleaning services.

We stayed here during the Oyster festival, so maybe its just that time when tourists are milked , which is sad. If you want repeat business you have to offer value for money.

There are no braai facility as stated. Maybe there are some sort of "communal facility" , which is basically the owner who lives there's braai place. But nothing was mentioned to us on arrival or in the info provided in the unit.

Leisure Isle is a beautiful and tranquil place, I would definitely stay there again , but not at Islands Nest.
**************************************************
The kitchen is indeed small, but it is very well equipped. Cooking equipment includes a microwave, an induction cooking plate, and a bowl oven, three very modern and efficient cooking tools what more do you need? It is also fully equipped with pots, frying pans, crockery, prepping utensils etc. Hundreds of guests have stayed in it for short and long periods of time and there has never been an issue of it not being practical for food prepping or cooking. Thus, his statement that its not very practical is simply untrue!

I have, in fact, just spent many thousands of rands in upgrading the kitchen, with lovely new counter tops and doors. The Pansegrouws were the first to use the new kitchen, and much to our dismay, left both countertops with several scratch marks! Clearly cutting things on the counter without using a chopping board which is very thoughtless.

There is most definitely a Weber braai available and it was remiss of me not to include it on the guide list which I shall rectify. I keep the Weber stored in my garage to preserve its life and keep it out of the weather. Further, if they knew that there was a braai, as stated on the advertising, why did they not ask me for it? At no stage did they request the braai, and now they moan? I always encourage guests to ask me for anything they need no different with the Pansegrouws. As guests they were very uncommunicative, and didnt even bother to alert me to their departure where is their decency, where are their guest manners, I have to ask?

The Oyster Festival is peak time in Knysna, and I am certainly not ripping anyone off. For the quality of the unit, I believe it is aptly priced. It could be let several times over at this time at this price, and as an owner one cannot be expected not to optimise ones return on the property. No-one forced them to hire the unit. For the quality of the fittings, the equipment, the linen, the wonderful location, the high-speed uncapped wifi, full DSTV etc, I believe Island Nest offers excellent value and all other reviewers of the unit so far would concur.

Kind regards,

"

    27 March 2014

"A beautifully presented little apartment in an outstanding location. Leisure Isle is by far the nicest part of Knysna. A wonderful bed, access to a lovely swimming pool and a real bonus in full DSTV. Excellent value all round, and ideal for a couple for up to a week or so."
