"We had a lovely August weekend in McGregor and found the village very charming and friendly. Bougainvillea Cottage was an ideal place for us to stay and had all we needed. It was a chilly weekend and so an extra cuddly blanket would have been nice; and normal coffee (instead of filter) would also have been preferred. We'll definitely be back."

"Such a lovely rustic getaway. Although it is in town central it does not feel like it. With the gorgeous garden and pool it is a doggy paradise!"

  • "The beautiful gardens"

"It is a lovely little cottage, a plug point at mirror for hairdryer would have been great. I would suggest moving the table and mirror to the wall with the door, there is a plug point on the right side, which would sort out the problem, also you would not have back lighting but side lighting when doing hair/makeup. I would also suggest a shower door, as the water spilled out onto the floor each time we showered."

  • "the highlight would be the surroundings"

"Me and my husband were very pleased with the place. Infact we didn't expect to have our own piece of paradise. The day we left, the place looked like some picture out of a story book. The restaurant where we had supper and breakfast,Talibadi, was excellent. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to escape from the hussle and bussle of the city.<br/><br/>Establishment's response:<br/><br/>We really appreciate your lovely review, and we hope to welcome you back again soon.<br/><br/>Warm country regards<br/>LOUISE BLOM<br/><br/>"

"My girlfriend her dog and I had a wonderful relaxing stay here. Very peaceful and the weather was great for a swim. Our four legged friend enjoyed the big yard and ran around for hours. Would definitely recommend this to anyone.<br/><br/>The one downfall on our trip was the annoying mosquitos came home relaxed but full of bites.<br/><br/>All in all an awesome place and an awesome holiday spent there.<br/><br/><br/>Establishment's Response: <br/>Thanks so much!"

"The cottage was neat, cosy, and uncluttered with a beautiful garden area with its own mini-vineyard.Would definitely recommend booking both the main house and the cottage for a big group as the property is perfect for it.Thanks for a great stay in a great town."

  • "Nice place nice location but a few touches missing"

    18 December 2015

"A very well located, well furnished cottage with extremely comfortable bedroom and brilliant shower although looking at oneself in the mirror opposite might not find universal appeal! <br />Another plus was the positioning of a plug for the hairdrier next to a mirror a failing in most places so kudos for that one.<br />The kitchen was well equipped but no coffee plunger which for an addict would be a travesty! On the subject of coffee, the armchairs in the bedroom were perfect for that in the morning but there was no little table so spare a thought for where to place the cup..or book.<br />Lots of mozzies in McGregor and there was an electronic zapper but no pads and solitary citronella candle down to its last.<br />The lounge is very dark due to a window being blocked up. The cottage windows have solid shutters which inhibits any fresh air and light it does cut out the summer heat. <br />Outside parking is a tight squeeze for a small compact vehicle so not the best choice for a larger or off-road model. The main house pool is accessible which is great but the water was very&nbsp; chlorinated. A few details for attention to what is&nbsp; a recommended venue as it&nbsp; is spotlessly clean and well maintained.<br />"
