Nyl Retreat is a self-catering country getaway situated 9 km from Modimolle in the Waterberg region, the ideal break from the busy city life. Enjoy the fresh air, beautiful sunsets and be entertained by the night call of the jackal and owls.
We offer two spacious cottages and five thatched chalets that overlook the typical Waterberg bushveld. Each unit is individually decorated and is equipped with quality mattresses, white linen and towels. Soap, shampoo and body lotion are standard items in each unit. The two cottages share a boma braai area.
At the end of the day guests can relax on their patio and watch the sunset or make a wood fire in their private lapa. There is a lovely swimming pool set in a peaceful garden.
The King Fischers call is a constant reminder of the rich bird life of the bushveld, the best place for birdwatchers and nature lovers alike. There are numerous hiking trails on the farm with lots of wild flowers and trees.
We have four dogs and two cats that are kept at the back of the main house, but will sometimes roam around the property. Please do not allow them in you rooms or feed them.
"Stil en baie rustig. Mal oor omgewing en mense. Baie veilig. Gaan Muffin vreeslik mis!"
"Oom Sollie en Tannie Rina het ons tuis laat voel vandat ons daar aangekom het. Ons het dit vreeslik geniet. Die chalet is pragtig binne en tenvolle toegerus, alles wat jy nodig het is daar. Nyl Retreat is rustig, stil en dis ideaal om jou kop stil te kry, weg van die alledaagse gejaag. Ons sal julle defnitief weer sien."
"We were welcomed like old friends. Was such a peaceful weekend. Just what the doctor ordered."
"Excellent hospitality! The chalets are spic-and-span! It is the ideal retreat for the weary traveller. The hiking trail is clearly marked and one enjoys being accompanied by the two dogs: Muffin and Brutus. Sollie and Rina have become like family! No wonder guests have returned for the past ten years!"
