PRIVATE, AFFORDABLE COMFORT DEEP IN THE BUSHVELD. UNLIKE most others, there are NO SHARED ACCOMMODATIONS. From your own private spacious gardens and private splash pool, down to our high quality linens and towels -our rustic yet comfortable air conditioned stone and thatch cottage at Bush Camp Number 70 is an incredible value. NOW through MAY 2019- MAXIMUM 4 PERSONS IN 2 BEDS. The cottage is set deep in the bushveld, and resting high upon the banks of the Olifants River within the private 1000 hectare Ndlovumzi Nature Reserve. You will enjoy panoramic views of the river, and more than one hectare of private space and gardens within a security game fence- complete with large fire pit and braii area. Enjoy 24 hour full access to the Ndlovumzi Nature Reserve for bush walks and game drives. A wide variety of riverine birds, as well as hippos and crocodiles in the river can be viewed and heard from the safety of the screened in verandah. Duiker, monkeys, bush bucks, and other visitors may visit your surrounding gardens- while giraffe, kudu, nyala, zebra and many others bushveld fauna are right outside the camp gates! Our somewhat remote bush camp (a 30-45 min. Drive from the main tar road) is perfect for family holidays, romantic retreats from civilization and those looking to escape to the bushveld and enjoy nature at its best. UNLIKE other listings located nearby, that share kitchen, pool, and open spaces with other guests and the host- here there are no other rental cottages or rondavels on site. The cottage features a large screened verandah, and an open plan lounge kitchen and dining area with all new furnishings. The kitchen is furnished with a gas 4 burner, a microwave, tea kettle, full sized refrigerator, and toaster, as well as pots, pans, plates and utensils. There are two private air conditioned bedrooms, as well as an rustic open upstairs loft sleeping area with two single beds*. There is a water closet with separate tub and sink room, as well as a outdoor shower. No TV. Maximum guests allowed is 4 adults with 2 children old enough to sleep in the loft beds. During the summer months we do not allow guests to use the sleeping loft, as it is too hot for comfort. Maximum capacity during the summer is limited to 4 persons in two beds. There is a washing machine available on sight. High-Speed satellite Internet access available. While our bush camp is located 13km from the R527 tar road, we are still close enough to make comfortable day trips to local sites. Like ALL NDLOVUMZI properties- We are approximately 35 km from Hoedspruit town center, a 45-60 min. drive to the Moholoholo Wildlife Refuge or the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Center, and 90 minutes drive to the Orpen Gate of Kruger National Park. The Panorama Route to Graskop and back, including stops at the Blyde Canyon 3 Rondavels viewpoint, Bourkes Potholes, and God's Window makes a pleasant full day trip. Still, our happiest guests come to retreat in camp, and often never leave during their stay.We welcome all questions, and can help you plan your trip to our beautiful lowveld region!
"Bush camp 70 is an amazing cottage overlooking the river. We were welomed warmly by our host Todd. He explained everything we needed to know and even left us some fresh Rosemary from his garden. We were left to enjoy the peace and quiet and beauty this nature reserve holds. Nights were filled with our family giggling around the firepit and enjoying each others company. This is wonderful as we had no tv or reception and could really cut off from the outside world. Lazy days filled with game drives and sightings of giraffe, warthogs, squirrels, zebra, various species of buck to name a few. We had a cold day and Todd was so kind to pop in and leave us freshly baked chocolate biscuits that were still warm! Delicious and so kind! We cannot wait to come back sometime soon."
"Having chosen Bush camp 70 by looking at previous reviews and pictures of the camp we were surprised and delighted to find it even better than advertised. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anybody who likes to stay in the bush with the amenities and comfort offered at Bush camp 70."
"They have the best kitted kitchen. The views are amazing. We got treated to a home baked cookie on arrival and a home baked bread the next afternoon. Lovely walks along the river. .A splash pool overlook the river was so relaxing when the afternoon got hot."
"We loved everything about this place, will be back soon. Mike and Mandi."
"We were from 4 March till 10 March in Bushcamp 70, but wished we had booked longer. We were very warmly welcomed by Todd and David. Before arrival we received a lot of information and a route description from Todd. The cottage was beautiful and fully equipped and private. From the swimming pool you look out over the Elephants River. We also enjoyed the beautiful Ndlovumzi reserve and seen many animal species, such as giraffes, wildebeests, mangoose, jackal etc. We had a great time and we will certainly book the cottage again if we are in South-Africa. It is a small piece of heaven on earth with very welcoming owners!"
"Thank you for the warm welcome and we had a wonderful stay. The place is devine for rain and sunny weather"
"What a lovely cosy place, paradise in the heart of the bushveld. We really enjoyed our stay at Bushcamp 70. The stonehouse is well equiped, clean and linen were clean and fresh. Dave and Todd made us feel welcome the minute we arrived there, thank you for your hospitality. we will recommend Bushcamp 70 to any one who wants to breakaway from the city. We'll be back but this time we will bring our kids along. Thank you for making new memories Wessel & Lizelle Greyvenstein"
"The very long dirt road leads to a lovely little reserve, sufficiently off of the grid to allow you to escape the rat race for a while and recharge in the natural surrounds. The houses are well spaced out to allow for privacy, and the area retains a sense of 'wildness'. Being able to search for interesting creatures on night drives and explore the riverbed by foot is exciting. We only wished for there to be more wildlife ambling along. The cottage oozes rustic charm, and is equipped with everything you'll need. Aircons, the outdoor shower, the fire pit and the most amazing little plunge pool overlooking the Olifants all make this spot feel luxurious, and an absolute steal at the price. I'll come back to sip another gin & tonic in the pool again!"
"What an amazing place to get away and relax with family. We'll definitely visit again."
"<p>Overall good value accommodationin the middle of the bush. The pool and outside space was lovely and the view fantastic.</p><p>We did find the property a little remote, it took 45 minutes on a very rough gravel road to get to the property. I'm sure this is fine for either a short stay or if you intend to stay onsite. Secondly the property was not as private as we were expecting, there are other properties overlooking you on both sides which was disappointing. </p>"
"<div style="text-align: center;">Loved it. It was the most relaxing and beautiful place I have ever been to with my family. <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Nothing</span></strong> gets better than a braai and listening to the hippo noises which are just grazing a few meters away from you!! It felt like I was in my own little paradise cut off from all my worries and problems.</div>"
"a lovely weekend away in the bush! Kids enjoyed the pool! Will see you again!"
"we had such a nice stay would recommend it to anyone who needs to break away...next time ill have to stay longer and arrange my work better so i dont need to leave so early...thanks a lot Todd it was great!!!<br />"
"We had a wonderful stay here in the gorgeous stone cottage. The setting is lovely with the river just down below. You can hear the hippos at night and enjoy the huge fire pit. The location is in a private reserve where you can spot a wide range of animals. Our kids loved this place. Our only regret is we couldn't stay longer! Fantastic place to relax and get back to nature. Todd and David are amazing hosts who will do everything possible to make your stay enjoyable."

"This was the perfect weekend for our family. Plenty of space to hike in the bush or play in the riverbed. Cottage is very comfortable and the loft beds were a highlight for the boys. Plenty of game on the reserve.<div>It is a long way from the tarred road, but that`s exactly why we love it. A Big thank you to David and Todd.</div>"
"<p><span style="font-size: 11pt; color: #1f497d;">The warm welcome on arrival was stunning, made one feel at home right away. "Our ten night stay was beyond our expectations! Gorgeous, rustic, colonial style stone cottage right on the banks of the Olifants River. We saw plenty antelope, zebra, giraffe and even a hippo! Its a bird watching paradise!Really a place to rest and get away from city life. The owners David and Todd were wonderful! From the second we got there, they were welcoming and made us feel like family without crowding our space. Will definitely try to go back as many times as possible, specially knowing that the owners have many plans for improving an already awesome holiday experience.Taljard's from Pretoria."
"We very much enjoyed our stay! Lovely place to get away from busy daily lives. Lots of animals to see."
"Lovely place to stay and very private. We never saw any other people and could relax completely. All rooms have ceiling fans which is great for the heat and keeping the mozzies away."
"Very nice and clean house, very friendly. Good value for Money. But takes 45min from tar road to house."
