  • "Friendlinees ans sevice excellent"

    26 June 2022

    "Hardly welcomed. Goeed service."

  • "Slightly disappointed"

    03 April 2022

"The room was clean and tidy. We were promised that we would be accommodated with a Queen size bed in Room 6, which unfortunately did not happen. The mattress of the double bed is also exceptionally hard. This, together with the outside lights that could not be turned off, making it very light in the room, resulted in a poor night's sleep. We had to look around for a bit to find someone to give us the key upon arrival. No complimentary soaps or shampoo. Beautiful area though!"

  • "very quiet"

    17 July 2017

"Please do not put airfreshners that go off every few minutes. For light sleepers that is very frustrating as it makes a sound every time it goes off and disturbes sleep."

  • "Locality"

    02 March 2017

"Closeness to Breede Valley and Gourdine Hot Springs resort facilityadjacent. Needs a fridge in the room and preferably a double bed with no end board, being a very tall guest at 2metres! Otherwise very enjoyable stay."

  • "Great Potential"

    08 February 2014

"Die Eike is set on fantastic grounds but unfortunately did not meet our expectationsThe pool and the homestead were undergoing maintenance and were not in a suitable state for us to enjoy swimming or the shared living room, facilities stated on Safarinow as being available for use by guests. We were not made aware of their condition at the time of booking and discovered this on arrival. There were also several inconsistencies with the information presented at the time of booking on this website and theirs. We were told that they don't accept credit cards whereas this website says that they do. Their website says that they have shampoo and conditioner dispensers in the bathroom but these were inconveniently empty. The photograph on Safarinow, of the room which we booked is not accurate; the flooring is not wooden but tiled, the attractive rugs in the photo were not there, the long skirt of the bed was not there and the base which is made of plywood and chipboard was exposed, two large old upholstered chairs occupied much of the space and are not shown in the photo, and an unsightly old steel door handle which is fitted to the cupboard which has no backing is not shown either. A plastic patio set was at the entrance and not the attractive bench shown in the photo on their website. We were also surprised to discover that neither of the hosts was at the guesthouse overnight. We should have been made aware of this in advance as we were to our knowledge the only guests and effectively alone for the night. The hospitable hosts did address some of the issues (conditioner, bench, milk) and moved us to a far better room on the second day but were unfortunately not in a position to address the swimming pool. They arranged access to the spa nearby which has pools but it was crowded and not what we expected at the time of booking. We consequently agreed to shorten our stay. All in all, not the luxurious farm stay which we expected"

"Will stay at Die Eike Farm Accommodation again. It was perfect for what we needed. Grieta is so friendly and helpful!"

  • "DIE EIKE"

    25 September 2013

"The room itself was first class, very neat, very clean, comfortable, spacious and good value for money. The personnel were very friendly, but not very visible or easily accessible. Once checked in, we were virtually on our own.The grounds of the farm were very untidy and not very interesting from a walk point of view, and tasting fruit should be described as 'when in season'.DSTV in every room, is an exaggeration. There was DSTV in the room true, but the channels are controlled from the main house. Despite requests to the point of embarrassment, we only had SS202 and SS203 and SABC TV1 on all the available channels for the duration of our stay. It's cold at night and a movie would have been welcome. And the cherry on the top has to be lunch at DAM FINE CAFE, where the service was the absolute worst that I've experienced in my entire life!<br></br><b>Establishment's response</b><br></br><i>Good Morning,I did receive the review, which made me sad because we do try our best to satisfy our guests.. Charmaine was on duty when they arrived, and she did explain about the problem with the dstv, that we lost of our decoders, but we are working on it. When the guest sms me for the another channel I did changed it immediately, because our other guests was from overseas for a international convention and did not need dstv.<br></br>We were on the premises all day for requests from our guests, maybe not always in the office, but I am on the farm 24/7, so when not in the office my Nr is visible in case any guest need attention. This weekend however we did prepare meals for the group and the reception, sitting dining room and kitchen are all together. So if not in office, we were here. The grounds are in winter scenery and it depend on what they mean by untidy, the vineyards are pruned and that is how the farm look this time of the year. The horses are on a farm next to us, but not around the guest house for hygienic purposes.<br></br>We are not responsible for the Dam Fine Caf, the restaurant is next door but have nothing to do with us, we do recommend our guests to some excellent restaurants in town, but the choice they have to made by themselves.</i>"

  • "Farm pleasure"

    30 August 2011

"We loved our stay at this accommodation. We were welcomed warmly; the hosts were very friendly and helpful with regards to things to do in the area and places to eat. Our breakfast at 'Dam Fine Cafe' was delicious. This is a family orientated 'home away from home'. Our room was very clean and spacious and provided everything we required. We will stay here again given the opportunity."

  • "Wedding Party Retreat"

    19 April 2010

"My Parents and I really enjoyed the stay at "Die Eike".The warm greeting and lovely little touches like the fragrance when you arrive, roses and ribbons around the towels made it all so special for what could be a stressful time just before the wedding. Then when the wedding was over it was like coming home. A wonderful sleep-in and then a fantastic breakfast followed by a walk around the gardens looking at the animals. We so enjoyed the friendliness for the staff and management. We felt really blessed by the Lord being there.Even the rose placed on the windscreen the next morning was the finishing touch. "Die Eike" is definitely worth another visit."

  • "Delightful place"

    08 June 2009

"My husband, myself and two friends stayed at Die Eike this past weekend;we were in the area for the Wacky Wine Festival - our first visit. We drove through pouring rain to Worcester - not an auspicious start to the weekend. However, on arrival at Die Eike we were greeted by Nolene and shown our rooms. The rooms and bathrooms were well appointed and comfortable with everything one could need - but the best thing at that point was that the air conditioners had been switched on the the rooms were beautifully warm!!Delightful place, warm and friendly hosts - would definitely return."

  • "Superb"

    04 May 2009

"This is our second stay at this beautiful home.It is magnificent in both history and culture. The accommodation is superb and every thought to details.Hospitality is warm and friendly and most accommodating. The farm is perfectly positioned to visiting surrounding towns such as Paarl, Franschoek, Worcester, Robertson and Montague. The worst this about it is when we have to say goodbye, it has always been a highligh of our weekly visit to the Cape.Thank to Nolene and Kobus you and your farm are the best.Glen and Lorna CominsDurban"

  • "Absolutely beautiful"

    07 April 2009

"This accommodation was absolutely beautiful Spotlessly clean, spacious and well presented. We enjoyed it so much that we were supposed to stay in Simon's Town, but drove from there to Die Eike for an additional two days. The host was charming, friendly and very helpful (Hansen) also Nolene (owner) was also as accommodating. Although the accommodation is situated on a vineyard there is a 'Dam Fine Cafe' next door and a short drive to Worcester and Rawsonville. We would recommendthis accommodation to anyone.Dave & Kate Price"

  • "Definitely recommended. "

This was a very pleasant place to spend a weekend in Spring."

From their arrival to departure we received regular calls/updates on how beautiful the farm was, their lovely meals under the oak tree and the stunning linen in the bedroom(women thing). Thank you for your hospitality and for making our parents feel like they had a home away from home. "

    19 June 2007

"Sorry that i did not get a chance to thank you for your hospitality to my wife and I. I dont think that there is anywhere else in the world where I would rather spend my time than your place. That place was where God really wanted us to be as my wife and I got to spend a lot of time together, and to top it all, our car broke down so we had to come to you by public transport and that helped not to leave your place.I would recomend anyone in the world to stay at Die Eike Farm. Please say hi to Malishta for me, she really took good care of us.Thank you Nolene! I will give you a call sometimeGod Bless"
