  • "the beautiful, serene, area - wow!"

    05 December 2017

"Booking for a big group is always difficult, as we look for a venue which has a communal area to gather at and braai and play music. Sandveld Country Cottages were not only comfortable, they had everything we needed - a pool, big braai area, lapa, and lovely lawns.highly recommendable."

  • "Remote Peace and Quiet"

    21 January 2014

"Tranquil, peaceful and relaxing are only a few of the wonderful qualities of this holiday destination. Simple, easy living with endless views, the sound of crickets and birds chirping, with the breeze whisking through the trees soothes the soul. So glad we book out all the cottages for the entire family... was a blissful home for the weekend."

"Very serene and peaceful - will be back"

  • "Sheer bliss"

    06 November 2006

"This was the second time my friend Joan and I stayed in the cottages, this time her sister, Helen, came with us. Once again it was sheer bliss. Last time was August last year, with the spring flowers in full bloom, this time the weather was warm and, on Sunday, hot enough for a swim and a touch of sun-burn. I can't decide what part is best; is it the absolute peace and quiet? Or maybe the freedom to leave doors unlocked and wander through the farm lands and up the mountain side? Or posiibly feeling "part of the family" enough to go and open the barn to get more wood? It's all that and more, the chattiness and obvious love of the land and the animals of Frans, the farm manager and the care of Charles who phoned along the way to check whether his directions were being followed and how far we had got. I can only say that we wished there was no work on Monday and we can't wait to go back again."
