  • "Peacefull sleeps at night"

    12 January 2021

"I enjoyed the silence. The host should be more on paarl with guests during their stay. We need a couple of things not been there and we have to cope without it for example an iron."

  • "Price vs what you get which was more than what we expected"

    21 December 2019

"As basic goes this is good value for money . This is farm type accommodation with the normal 20 000 mosquitoes in attendance. We felt quite safe , again for farm accommodation and the crime associated with it. Will make use of it again should the opportunity arises"

  • "Slice of Heaven"

    18 June 2018

"We enjoyed a wonderful stay at Stillewaters. The hosts were incredibly accommodating and attentive. We enjoyed the wonderful welcoming and homely atmosphere. The fact that Stillewaters accommodates pets made it rather exceptional."

  • "Farmhouse Tranquility"

    04 June 2018

"We spent one night in the en-suite room. The farm is perfectly located half-way between Joburg and Cape Town. Easy to find and in a very tranquil space. We found the room spacious and clean and had a wonderfully quiet night's rest. Unfortunately though, the hot water was not running in the en-suite and we had to get hot water from the kitchen to "bucket bath". Other than that, which I assume can be easily fixed, I would recommend staying at the farm."

  • "Oh no!"

    22 December 2017

"The house might be nice, but we stayed in the flatlet and it was unfortunately not. Apart from the flies, spiders, swarms of mosquitoes and a mouse as company and no apparent attempt to help patrons to deal with these creatures like a fan, a swatter or some doom in the room, the place looks in need of some tender loving care, updating and maintenance. Sadly it was not the relaxing farmstay we were looking forward to, as we did not have a very good nights sleep. Also, meals could not be arranged as it was stated in the Safari Now page."

  • "Quiet"

    22 December 2017

"This was the perfect spot to stop between Johannesburg and Cape Town. Spotlessly clean. And so quiet"

  • "Stars out in the night sky"

    18 December 2017

"Pictures of the flatlet should be shown on the website as it is away from the house and not what we were expecting. Otherwise, everyone was very welcoming and the facilities were everything that we needed. Everyone friendly and rooms clean. Secluded parking a plus."

  • "Stillewaters"

    19 October 2017

"Proximity to Richmond while on a farm. Beautiful dam and lots of birds. The fireplace should work as we had ice cold weather with no heat in living areas."

  • "All depends on the other guests"

    26 March 2016

"this venue offers good value for money. Lovely quiet location, comfortable beds, clean bathroom. However you are sharing a house with other unknown guests. So if they leave a mess in the kitchen and have screaming kids running up and down the old wooden floorboards until they go to sleep that is something that needs to be considered. I can imagine it would be delightful if the other visitors were a bit more considerate.<div>Bring lots of mosquito replelent.......they are many and huge!</div>"

  • "Quiet and peaceful place"

    09 January 2015

"We had a quiet and peaceful stay in this lovely guest house. This is also a perfect place to make a one-night stop between Cape Town to Johannesburg..Still no one was there to welcome house. The door was open and stayed that way the whole night."

  • "A pleasant spot"

    14 December 2013

"We broke our journey back from Cape Town by staying overnight at Stillewaters. It was peaceful quiet and refreshing. The hosts were welcoming and helpful and the place had all the hallmarks of old landed luxury. The farm itself will suit one who wants to getaway from all the hectic life of the city of today. However, Richmond has become a guest house Town so do not expect too much from the Town.It does have its supermarket and bottle store but eateries and restaurants do not appear prominently.Kishore Juggath"

Bertha's husband treated my sons to a farming experience which they will never forget. Their hospitality is great!I would absolutely recommend staying at Stillewaters to enrich your memories!"
