Granaat Cottage

This former labourers cottage was named Granaat or pomegranate, only to discover later that there are a few old pomegranate trees growing not far from it. It served as inspiration to plant a whole lane of both the old and the new variety of trees.

Situated on a hill overlooking some of the surrounding farms and a poplar grove, Granaat Cottage boasts a large patio in the front and a substantial dam at the back. The cottage is located about 2 km from Beloftebos wedding venue.

Granaat Cottage can comfortably accommodate up to eight guests and comprises three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living area and kitchen, and a patio. The first bedroom contains a queen-size bed and an en-suite with a bath and shower, and the second bedroom contains a double bed and opens out onto the patio. The third bedroom is a loft room that contains four single beds. The second and third bedrooms share a second bathroom with a shower and bath, and there is also an outside shower with hot water. Linen and towels are provided.

The living area and kitchen include a fireplace, a proper cast-iron Dover wood oven and a cosy corner to soak in the winter sun. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering, with tea, coffee and rusks provided on arrival. The enclosed patio features outdoor dining furniture and a portable braai, and wood is provided for guests' use.
