Stanford Hotel has 3 double en-suite hotel rooms, one two bedroomed family suite and two self-catering cottages (4 pax & 2 pax). This historic landmark, built in 1920, is conveniently situated in the heart of the village. It is close to the river, in which it is safe to swim, close to all the shops, restaurants and heritage market square. Furnished with antiques from a bygone era, the finest cotton bedlinen, down duvets, feather pillows and top of the range mattresses to ensure a good nights sleep. Guests have 24 hour access to the honesty bar, private guest lounge with full DSTV and shaded courtyard with no access to the general public. Free Wifi. All rooms have there own entrance and veranda. The Saturday morning food market is held on the hotel's front veranda from 9-12 noon every week.Stanford is a small village 25 Km outside Hermanus and has a completely relaxed, small-town-living atmosphere. The Kleinriver which runs through the town is a wonderful place to kayak, swim and launch boats. The heritage market square boasts a sunset market on the last Friday of the month with locally produced beer, wine and cheese amongst other delights.

Our room was comfortable and cozy and it was wonderful to be in the middle of the little town and able to walk to a restaurant for dinner and waking up to the church bells.Penny at the Stanford Hotel was o helpful and left warm muffins and the newspaper on our stoep in the morning. What a treat!Would definitely stay there again!"

04 April 2013"We stayed in Bambi Cottage , just behind the Hotel. In teh middle of teh town, walking distance to all the shops and restaurants . Penny went out of her way to welcome us and also surprised us with the best Muffins we had in a long time. House was full of easter sweets and flowers , we really enjoyyed our stay, will be back and will recommend this as the place to stay in Stanford"
