Summer Place is a lovely double-storey self-catering holiday home situated right on the waters edge of the Knysna Lagoon. This location allows you to soak up to sun on the patio or take just a few steps down to the beach. Swimming in the lagoon is very safe, and playing beach games or walking on the sandy beach are enjoyable pastimes. The Knysna Heads are only 500 m from your doorstep, and apart from their scenic beauty, they also offer a restaurant and coffee shop.
Accommodation is offered in two self-catering units, one upstairs and one downstairs. The units can be rented together for larger groups on request.
The downstairs unit comprises two bedrooms, a living room and kitchen. The main bedroom contains a king-size bed and the second bedroom contains twin single beds and a pull-out underbed, if required. Both bedrooms have stunning views of the lagoon. The bathroom includes a bath and a shower. The compact kitchen is well-equipped and includes a gas stove, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, microwave and washing machine. The large living room has panoramic windows and leads onto a patio facing the lagoon, which is less than three metres below.
The upper unit features its own private entrance, two bedrooms, an open-plan kitchen, large lounge and dining room. The main bedroom contains an extra-length king-size bed and leads onto a view deck with breathtaking views of the lagoon and mountains. The second bedroom contains bunk beds and the bathroom has a shower-over-bath. The modern kitchen is well-equipped with all necessary appliances, and access to the beach is via outside steps.
Knysna town is approximately 7 km away and offers various restaurants, shops and amenities. A boat mooring can also be made available for an additional fee. Other activities in and around Knysna include sailing, fishing, windsurfing, snorkelling, bird-watching, kayaking or visiting one of the nearby golf courses.
"Brilliant location, but totally neglected. Lousy kitchen equipment (health hazardous pan, rotten toaster), no welcome, no good bye - nobody to contact nearby. Insufficient outdoor furniture ( only one sun launcher), lock rusted so that we had to have good luck to come in on the second last evening by the help of a broomstick and a lot of power. There also was a mildew problem.<div>The owner family obviously does not like to use it any more, it seems just good enough to squeeze out money of it by inexperienced clients.<br /><div><br /></div></div>"
"Whatever you do avoid this venue, both apartments, at all costs! South African Health & Safety should view this property. The people renting the apartment below knocked to enquire as to the state of our apartment, all were agreed it needs knocking down. The owner sells the property "on the view", which she had no part of as its purely nature at its best, however, the place is filthy. I have taken photos which if l am struck down with anything following my visit l will have proof how the condition was contracted. PLEASE save your money and be warned!"
"Set right on the water on, in my opinion, the most beautiful little bay in Knysna, the location was so lovely we didn't want to leave to go anywhere else. Decor is old-school but, most important, the linen and mattresses are very good quality. We spent most our time outside so the one thing missing was comfortable outdoor furniture to enjoy the beauty in a most relaxing position than the upright chairs provided. We'll definitely be back."
"This was a wonderful, relaxing holiday. Just what we needed. We loved the warm homely feel of the place and wished we could have stayed longer. We would highly recommend Summer place and will be go back again one day."
"I am not sure if I should share this best kept secret with others...We had the most fantastic time and even the weather played along. Absolutely fabulous."
